2004 axle leak and fix help??

Hello, I'm new to this forum or any forum at that matter. I really am lost and don't know what to do to fix my truck. Any help would be appreciated. I have a 2004 and the rear axle leaks and have replaced the seals 3 times. The mechanic said I need a new axle. I have read threads about this so I know it's a major issue. What do I need to do to fix it? Buy a newer model axle, buy another manufacturers axle, put a vent in it? Do I trash the axle and housing all together? Can I salvage and repair the one I have? I'm sure like a lot of you I love my truck and need to get it back on the road to recovery. Thank you all!

Ask him why you need a new axle. If you can't get a straight answer you may need a new mechanic. But you need to make sure you have a working vent . The best way would probably be the vent mod it is cheap and easy . If the vent isn't working you will blow out seals

Cajun Axle vent kit is a possible solution if the vent is the issue. I have heard that the axle tubes can be out of round on some of the 04-06 Titans and will never seal.
My axle seal was leaking so I did the cajun axle vent and the leak stopped. The fluid that is leaking is differential fluid so dont run the thing out of fluid or its toast. I would install the vent, clean up the area where the leak is, change the fluid in the rearend to a good synthetic like royal purple, then just keep an eye on it. If the leak doesnt stop then I would try another round of seals now that you have a working vent.
