I have a 2004 Nissan Titan LE. The oil pressure gauge is reading all the way to the high position (when cold and warmed up). I have checked the oil pressure sending unit by turning the key to on(engine off) and it reads normal in the middle. The level of oil is prefect, not overfilled. Does anybody know what's wrong?

Sounds to me like the gauge is spun. You should not have oil pressure at all if the engine is off. The needle should be at the bottom with key on engine off

Bad sending unit. Pressure should be zero with the ignition on and engine not started, as Johaun said.

Courtesy Parts has the OEM part discounted for 18.51. Easy install. It's just above and to the side of the oil filter.

My 2004 has the same issue... just haven't gotten around to changing out the sensor. You can get it from the link above or search on Amazon. It's the same price.

Definitely a bad sending unit...I have replaced 2 of them in 150,000 miles.
