Any idea on what I can do to install one? I am thinking of getting a DeeZee lift assist (for chevy) and using that since I am sure I could make it work. I don't plan on spending more than $40 to do the modification. If you have an idea let me know. Thanks!

Not sure if it's worth it to go that route, or if there may be an aftermarket system which is cheaper/easier, but you might check into it.

A lot of the trucks came with it from the factory, was installed behind the tail light.

I wouldn't go with an aftermarket setup if i were you, i would install the factory setup.
