yeah ecu and harness, or just ecu and splice the wires needed to the ecu and connecters. You will need a wireing diagram of the 05 and 08 to cross reference all colors. They may have swapped some designations and made different items share the same wire. Like some cars, i think its older fords, have the windhield wipers go through the stereo wireing.

Funny you mention Ford. I had a '96 Ranger and when I messed with the radio the wipers would come on.
