My 06 Titan 2WD it has 150k miles. I was just thinking that if I had to replace the gasoline engine, would it be possible to retrofit with a cummins diesel/transmission? What would be the pros and cons of doing so, if even possible, and the cost? Just asking in the event I would need to. Any thoughts out there in Titan land?

Yes, its possible & no its not even close to being practical on so many levels. You'd be better off replacing the motor with a direct replacement or just ditching the whole truck.

Its been done before a few years back, can't remember the guy anymore (cnallick? something like that...) that put an inline 6 in the truck... extensive amount of work was done.

I mean, anything is possible if you throw enough money at the problem.

I remember that build, quite a bit of time, he ended up selling it shortly after finishing it too. Like said above, enough money anything can be done, but really it's just not worth it.

1st gen Titan was used as the mule to test the Cummins V8 in the new XD, so it is very, very possible...if you have the resources of the manufacturer. For a shade tree mechanic, the hurdles might not be insurmountable, but unless you've got a ridiculous amount of time/money sunk in other upgrades, I'd say skip it.
