The sub is powered by the factory deck or another amp under the dash. Once you unhook the factory deck you unhook the sub, unless I'm mistaken. If you want to run the sub you'll have to get an amp for it.
That makes sense, but now I wonder why Crutchfield wouldn't have let me know that. I bought all the adapters they told me to buy. Everything else works perfectly other than that sub.The sub is powered by the factory deck or another amp under the dash. Once you unhook the factory deck you unhook the sub, unless I'm mistaken. I honestly cant tell you why I used the converter, Crutchfield said I needed it so I just went with it. I can try and hook up without it. I guess I wouldn't be using the speaker wire connections from the Alpine at all? Just hook up the RCA's straight from the harness to the back of the Alpine? Why did you use the speaker level converter. Doesn't the Alpine have RCA out already?
Also make sure the crossovers in the Alpine are turned off.
