On my 2008 CC LE it comes with XM installed from the factory. The antenna is already mounted on the roof at the front drivers side corner.
I really want Sirius. As of 2008 Nissan does not offer Sirius on the Titan. Does anyone know if the old Nissan factory Sirius module will plug in, in place of the XM unit and work with the factory radio? I assume the antenna connection will be different. Does anyone make an adapter to use XM antennas with Sirius or vice versa?
I spoke to a decent mechanic in the service department. He said they changed quite a few things on the 2008 Audio / Nav system and he has not had a chance to work on any yet.

Ok, Did some research. Yes, you can use an XM antenna with Sirius. The reception will not be quite as good. But from what I read no one is unhappy doing this. Everyone says it works great. They do make adapters for the antenna connection. They run $30 to $40.
Tomorrow I will take out the Factory XM module and look at the antenna connector. As long as it is a normal XM antenna connector and the Nissan oem Sirius module has a normal Sirius antenna plug the antenna should work.
The next question is: Will the Nissan Sirius oem module have the same interface plug as the new XM module? And will the factory radio control it?

Does anyone have a picture of the antenna plug and interface plug on the Nissan oem Sirius unit?

This place has the Sirius listed as 04-08.
I have been in contact with Brian (the main guy at that site) and he is working on getting me an answer to the compatibility question.

For those of you that don't know Brian, he really knows his stuff with respect to mods/accessories for our Titan and one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He works in the parts department at Turnersville Nissan and hangs out on a couple of the other forum sites.

New update:::::

Went to the dealer today and had him open up a Nissan Sirius module and a Nissan XM module. They are identical except for the antenna plug.
In fact the antenna plugs are actually the same except for the plastic ring around the connection. The only difference is the outer shape of the plastic ring. They are keyed differently. All you would need to do is clip off a tiny piece of plastic from the ring and either an XM or Sirius antenna would fit into either Tuner box.

I bought the Sirius tuner and when I pick up the truck I will try it and see if it works with the factory XM antenna.

The parts manager and I agreed that most likely Nissan did not disable the software in the head unit that lets you control the Sirius Tuner.

He agreed to let me return it if it does not work.

Looks like things are looking up for us Howard fans  . Sounds like the parts manager is a pretty cool guy. Would you happend to know if having the Nissan factory navigation complicates anything?

I think that is the big question. I read online that the deal made between XM and Nissan adds XM's traffic reporting and weather into the nav system.
That is why the XM came factory installed on my LE. The nav package included it.

I've heard the same thing, but if you go to the XM website, it says XM NavTraffic is available on the Armada but not the Titan. Time will tell I guess.

Ok, Took some time today and got the Nav2Go installed.

Then it was time to tackle the Sirius.
First I unplugged the factory XM Tuner and antenna.

Then I noticed the XM antenna connector looked exactly the same as the Sirius, just a different color. It plugged onto the Sirius tuner module with no adapter.
I plugged in the Sirius Tuner and turned the radio on.

It works! It acquired all the stations and appears to work fine. I have not driven with it yet, so I don't know if I will have any reception issues with the XM antenna.

Now I have to remove the XM tuner and mount the Sirius.
I will post again when complete.

Good news for 2008 owners that want Sirius!

Just got back from a test drive with the completed Sirius install.

I hate to say it but I think I am getting better reception with the XM antenna then I did with the Sirius antenna.
It is very cloudy and rainy now. I could not get the signal to drop in the same places it always did before. I had to park directly under a large tree and even then it only dropped out for a couple seconds.

I would have to call this test a success. Even better I did not have to spend the $30 on the XM to Sirius antenna adaptor.

Hope this helps all................

Ok, drove around for a few days now.
I do not see any problems with the factory Nav system. ( Did not want to answer this until I was sure.)

I also still think the XM antenna is working better with my Sirius tuner than my Sirius antenna did.

Venom, you just made my day ! I guess all I need is the Sirius tuner then? Thanks for taking the time to check this out!

I just got an 08 LE w/o naviagation and also have the antenna on the roof. How do I go about setting up Sirius or XM?
Look above your gas pedal and toward the front of the truck. There will be a square bracket That holds a sat tuner and behind that the amp for the stereo.
If the bracket is empty in front of the amp, then buy either a Sirius or XM tuner pack from Nissan. The plug and antenna should be right buy the bracket.

I looked under there and saw the amp and the bracket. Would the tuner be facing me on the outside of the bracket? I saw a black small box but dont think this is it. Is the the tuner mounted on the side of the bracket (facing the door, instead of the seat)? Anyone with pics?

The amp is mounted directly behind the tuner. If you have no tuner installed there should be an empty space where it will mount into the bracket. The tuner slides into the middle of the bracket. Then 2 screws on the top and 2 screws on the bottom hold it in place. The wiring plugs in on the left once it is mounted.

The service manual says to remove the gas pedal assembly. ( I think it was 3 nuts to remove ) Then you can get at the bracket easy.
