I bought an 08 Titan about 2 weeks ago. I called the local guy about an aftermarket muffler. Not looking to do anything but replace the factory muffler.

I am looking for something that isn't extremely loud, just a good deep sound. He suggested a Flowmaster Series 40.

Any information from Titan owners that are familiar with this setup would be appreciated.

Pro's vs. Con's

Thanks

I have the Flowmaster 40's on my 2006. Sounds great, no popping. Is not "extremely loud" but will definitely increase in-cabin noise. I would not recommend any other exhaust. I can not give you a specific address, but check out YouTube. There are several videos of Titans with Flowmasters. The cost was approximately $200 installed.

IMO I think Flowmaster is to loud ( I had flowmaster 40 on my Dodge). If you just want a muffler swap check out Magnaflow. I think you will need part #12280 for an 08, but I'm not sure. You can get good prices on mufflers at http://www.performancepeddler.com/. I paid $65 for my Magnaflow delivered to my door. It only cost $45 to have it welded on, so I am only out $108 and I think my truck sounds damn good. This is only my opinion, but alot of others on here have had good luck with Magnflow.

I am with TITANLOU Magnaflow gets my vote, in my opinion the flowmasters sound good when they are true dual and on a built v8 like my old 400hp 5.8L mustang, they sound great on a really really healthy v8 but for the trucks my vote goes to the magnaflow, i have the 14" magnaflow on my truck and it isnt too loud but just loud enough to sound great and get compliments, my buddy has a flowmaster on his supercrew f-150 and he gets alot of drone in the cab, so much that we always take my truck when we go riding cause neither of us can stand the drone. JUST MY TWO CENTS. everyone will tell you different, its a personal choice.

I originally ran with a Flowmaster 70, the 18" Magnaflow sounds 10 times deeper and better. I was a huge fan of Flowmaster, but not anymore.

If you want a agressive sound go with the FlowMaster 40 series. I had a F/M 40 with all stock pipes on my 04 until today, i love the sound of this muffler, replaced it with a complete 07 exhaust with the MagnaFlow. A big difference in sound, the M/F is a lot quieter than the F/M, going to give it a try and if i do not like the M/F the F/M is going back on.

I've been very happy with my Flowmaster 70 Series on my 08. It took about 600-800 miles for it to "break in" and really give the loud roar in the higher RPM range, but I think it sounds great. It's also relatively quiet at idle.

Flowmaster 40. Wouldn't even consider anything else.
