You can swap out the old one for a new one of the same type without issues. I have done exactly that. I have the R/F version.
If yours is not the R/F version and you don't have NAV and all the other goodies that come with it, you may be able to find another model that works. You may want to stick with the same chassis size so it mounts in the same location and uses the same mounting methods. Or you will need to modify the mount with some sheet aluminum and/or washers or something.
You may want to post up in the Buy/Sell section... There are a lot of guys who upgrade the audio and can probably sell you their OEM unit.
