Here are a few links to some youtube videos on the 2009 Dodge Ram and 2009 Ford F150. Pretty nice trucks, wonder how much they will cost. They get me excited to see the new generation Titan. Makes the Chevy trucks look pretty bad, gives the Tundra a run for its $ imho. The Titan is still king. A lot of features on these trucks that were introduced on the Titan almost 5 years ago.

Interesting...

The Dodge:
Did you notice the console shifter only has notches for "P", "R", "N" and "D"?...For a 5 speed auto?
My understanding is there will be no Tow Package for the new 1500 Ram, and the only way to get the 4.10 gears is with the bling 20" wheels.
The Ram Box is a very cool idea, saw a tie-down type rail system on the inside of the bed, and the ride should be pretty good with a coil spring rear. I'm liken' the 380 HP also!...

Ford:
Aluminum instead of plastic, good... but I don't think the production model will have real woodgrain around the radio/info center. Lot's of talk about visual crap, didn't tell me if it's got any more power(it's supposed to, but I haven't heard any numbers yet) or about the the new 6 speed auto trans it's rumered to be sporting.
Could they make the F-150 any uglier? It's a real soid truck, but the went backwards in styling...
Factory tow Command a real plus, all trucks should have this feature...No mention of any Utili-Trak type tie-down system...Don't telll me after the Titan's system out almost 4 years ago and still nothing from Ford?

Finally the Dodge won't have those huge stupid looking wheel openings. The factory tires always looked like they didn't belong on there.
Ford is making a point of having the fold up rear seat which NISSAN has had for years. I'll bet all the trolls will think it was Fords idea first after it comes out.
The Titan has, and will always be ahead of them.

Below the D, if you look close enough you can see - / + signs. I think it will use the autostick thing thats in several other dodge cars...
From what I've read on the F-150 forums, the '09 3V SOHC 5.4L F-150's will have 310hp/365tq. 10 more hp than the '08 models. The F-150 is more of a reskin than a total revamp like the Dodge Ram. Even with the 6sp auto, the F-150 is still going to be slowest 1/2 ton on the market just like the current model. Ford supposedly lightened the frame to help improve the power to weight ratio, but they gained most of it back for safety improvements like the standard side air bags and hydroformed roof rails.lol!

The '09 Dodge Ram looks promising. The reverse slant Charger front grill is a bit odd and gives the truck unflattering proportions at certain angles. Why couldn't they make it vertical? The reverse slant looks stupid on a big truck like that IMO. The bodyside contours and rear door openings on the quad cab look almost indentical to the Crew Max Tundra. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flatterly. The new Ram truck looks alot smoother and sleeker than the current truck. The storage compartments in the bed are cool, but you won't be able to use them if you get a topper or a hard tonneau cover. The interior is a huge improvement over the current Ram though. I really like the interior. The 380hp/400tq 5.7L VVT Hemi and 6sp auto should be very competitive and give the 5.7L Tundra a good run for the money. The single cabs will be brutal, that's for sure. Especially with that coil rear susp. Those things are gonna dead hook with a limited slip and drag radials. Unless they overrated them like they did with the 242rwhp "345hp" Hemi's, I think the "Hemi's for Lunch Bunch Club" on the other site is going to become extinct.lol! Nissan better step it up for the '09 Titan's and pump up the mojo.

I'm not holding my breath for a next gen Titan. With all these rumours flying around about a Ram based Titan, I'm not too sure I'd want one. I'd rather have a real Titan, not some rebadged reskinned Dodge Ram clone.

I think it's great that the Big 3 are coming out with these "innovative" designs. Designs which Nissan and Toyota have had for years on their vehicles. The "Ram Box" is a nice feature, but seem useless if you add a topper or toneau cover. I don't like the looks of the new F-150 at all and I agree they took a step backward in the design department. If you look at one of the videos posted and pause it for a moment while it's in the distance, you'll think you're looking at a Tundra. I do like how Dodge has greatly increased the quality of their interior over their previous models, though it looks more like the Titan's interior now. Dodge's lines just don't seem to flow on the new Ram to me. There are too many obscure angles , the grill in particular, that contradict with the design from the rest of the truck.

Neither of the trucks make me want to go to the dealerships to test drive them. Then again, I might just go test drive them to back up my arguements I claim against them. For me, the last 10 years of vehicle designs have just been pathetic. I have a hard time distinguishing a vehicle's brand from a distance because they all seem to look the same. A very strong reason for the purchase of my Titan was that it didn't look like anything else on the road.

Anyways, that's my rant and my $0.02. Take it for what it's worth.

The F-150's interior looks nice, almost to nice for a truck, but I don't care for the exterior, to boxy looking and I never did like the look of the high bed sides. The Dodge has a tough modern look, although the reverse slant grill is a bit much. Thiers some cool features on the Dodge like the optional Ram box, It would eliminate my need for a bed cover, as everything that I need to protect would fit into them. The coil sprung rear suspension looks promising. Powerwise the Ford will still be the slowest truck on the road, the 380HP pushrod in the Ram should be pretty quick but still behind the Tundra.
380 hp....does that mean it will only get 280 to the ground? Considering the current hemi only puts 247 to the ground when they say it has 345 hp. Can't wait to see the 2009 titan blow these two trucks out of the water.
Notice how the Dodge's sideboxes are like the Chevy Avalanche's in that they eliminate fender-wells inside the box, but that also means way less space.

Good luck fitting a 4x8 sheet of plywood inthe back of a new Ram.
Ok, here's my take...
Dodge= looks better and more roomier now, the old quad cab just didn't measure up. Maybe more power?? The Ram-Box is a novel idea, but probably won't come standard on every truck. Coil rear is cool. Minuses there are: if the truck you buy has those, how do you use a traditional truck box or bed/shell cover?? And, I can't wait to see one in about a year with the bed sides all dinged up for loading/unloading stuff...:teeth:

Ford= Who the he(( designed that Platinum model?? The 4x4 decal and the aluminum tailgate panel looks like the crap on my uncle's '88 era Ranger ext cab 4wd??:bangit: The rear seat fold-up and bed tie downs= Nissan technology stolen. The front end,I'm just not sure of...Let's hope the upped horses move this thing easier than the current rig...Ford, not my cup 'o tea...:dunno:

Plywood will fit, but of coarse you can't close the gate.
All are gonna be GREAT trucks IMHO. But, for me, looks is the first draw and the new Dakota front end on the Dodge kills any chance they ever had of having me as a customer.
Fords new styling screams Ford Edge too much for my liking. Looks like all CC interiors are now as big or bigger than ours. That is a huge plus.

I have high hopes for the new Titan as well. I wonder why Nissan has been so tight lipped about it though. We are seeing full video reviews of production ready trucks from Dodge and Ford. I haven't even seen spy shots of the Titan yet. Has anyone found anything I may have missed other than artists conceptions.
The looks of the new Ram are starting to look nicer to me, still not a fan of the grille area/front fascia, they sure don't make um like they used to:D. The new options are cool though, race guys should love that 5-link, Ram-box looks pretty usefull too, and finally a real CC model. The back seats look allot more comfy than the Titan's, and the interior is real nice, RV camera and in cab storage. Wonder how the R/T model will look, and if they do come out with the Cummins in 1500 trim it's gonna rock. Maybe the R/T models will have a much nicer front bumper to match the grille area, wonder if they will have the Cummins as an option in the R/T package.

Good, I was hoping it was like that, just didn't see it...
The new Dodge looks good inside, as dodes the Ford, but if it's true the new Ford will sport a whole 310 HP then that's just weak...

I'd like to see the same. I was just getting ready to ask if it is a fact that 09 will be a re-design or not and if so, what's new about it.
i'd like to see a titan with the same "face" that it has on the front .. but only bigger this time, and meaner and a little more chrome..

I kinda feel as though the Dodge took styling cues from the Ford "Heritage" series diesels, and that the 09 Ford looks more like a Honda Ridgeline, just bigger. Dodge seems most improved though, their current trucks are fugly with those huge *** headlights and leftover parts and styling cues from the Jeeps.

I am hoping Nissan does something good with the 2009 Titan.
i really like the 09 ram. yes, its a lot different from the current one, with all the angled pieces. however, it kinda reminds me of what drew me to the TITAN. it doesnt look like everything else. the interior is tons better. i could definately stomach seeing these on the road better than the current ones. especially in that 2-tone paint scheme. looks pretty good.
couple of downsides though. one, which has been pointed out, the "ram box" will be useless w/ a topper/tonneau.
also, w/ that coil spring set up in the rear, what is their payload/tow capacities going to be?

now for the ferd. looks like a freaking explorer/expedition up front and as posted earlier the back looks like an 80's ranger w/that metal trim.
they will try to look good sitting in the parking lot at the drag strip, cause no one that owns one will be running them w/ that weak-a$$ed powertrain....
