No, two different things. What TX is saying is, "since you're going to have to remove and replace every thing except maybe the ring and pinion (but they may be damaged from shrapnel, also, like your cover appears to be) you should go with the Tru-Trac limited slip differential, as it's a beefier unit and you won't risk this problem again."
Alternately, you could find a suitable used axle assembly of the correct gear ratio and just R&R the whole axle. The risk there is you don't always know what you're getting and you could be doing this again in the future.
Not sure which is the cheaper option, but I'd bet it's the used axle assembly. That's easier to DIY, for sure. But the Tru-Trac is the stronger option.
