my son was driving my titan when it suddenly jerked and stopped moving. we removed the differential cover and found gears broken in half...can someone tell me if these are spider gears and what i have buy to fix it?

Trutrac is what you want. It’s a limited slip differential. Jon Long with Openwide Performance is running specials now. He may be able to help you. I don’t think he is a forum vendor, but google will get you there. You can also FB message him.

You might as well do the Cajun’s axle vent mod, larger differential cover, and bearings while you are in there.

No, two different things. What TX is saying is, "since you're going to have to remove and replace every thing except maybe the ring and pinion (but they may be damaged from shrapnel, also, like your cover appears to be) you should go with the Tru-Trac limited slip differential, as it's a beefier unit and you won't risk this problem again."

Alternately, you could find a suitable used axle assembly of the correct gear ratio and just R&R the whole axle. The risk there is you don't always know what you're getting and you could be doing this again in the future.

Not sure which is the cheaper option, but I'd bet it's the used axle assembly. That's easier to DIY, for sure. But the Tru-Trac is the stronger option.

If an axle is that much, it might be cheaper to go with the Tru-Trac.
