Ok so the other morning I went to jump in the truck for work and noticed that my brake lights were on. Not having time to investigate further, I went ahead and drove to work.
On the highway, it has significantly reduced power and no passing gear. The traction control warning light comes on after 30-45 mins of driving but doesn't come on in the mornings or evenings after work when the truck is cool.
In trying to diagnose the problem myself, I did top off the brake fluid reservoir even though it was still above the halfway mark and also replaced the brake switch today to no avail.
The truck has never seen mud, but I did go through some flood water a few weeks ago when Hurricane Harvey made landfall. It wasn't anything over the bottom of the doors, but this truck does have the 7 pin towing setup with electric brake controller. I had read somewhere in the forums about a few people having brake light issues from the moisture shorting out the 7 pin, but 3 weeks later? Surely there's something else that could be happening other than electrical shorts..... I hope. -.-
