When I first purchased my SL model it had the usual new car smell. After a while it turned more into a somewhat acrid smell. No hidden food or drink from my kids and cleaned thoroughly in and out. It's tapered off some, but still noticeable.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have an SL and I think I know what you mean... I think it's the leather or something. Doesn't bother me. I still have Th new truck smell after 5000 miles & 7 weeks

It's finally tapering off and assumed it was related to the leather. Last year when my Wife was looking at a Toyota Minivan we drove 3 of them, because the first 2 had terrible offgassing smells.

The smell has settled, but it's still a somewhat unpleasant odor.
Guess it's air freshener time.
Put a box of baking soda under the seat for a few weeks. Just make sure it doesn't spill.

My 17 Rogue had overpowering "new car smell" for 4+ months.. finally settled down. I too think it's adhesives and materials outgassing. Bender2 nailed it..
