Twice now I have been left sitting on the side of the road when my wipers decided not to engage either in auto or manual. I turned them from auto to low then high and nothing. Made sure the sensor was clear, don't use any products on the windshield and it's like the stalk when turning does nothing in any position.
Got out checked everything under the hood (in the pouring rain) and got back in sat 4 or 5 min with them in high mode manual and all of a sudden they started to clean the windshield. Happened twice now. Not a good thing in a Colorado downpour in the mountains or worst glad it wasn't snow.
I tested them every time I get in now and they work but am scared they will go out again when it rains.
Anyone else experience this? Scheduled an appointment to be looked at here in Grand Junction, CO at Red Rock Nissan.
----------- August 1st, 2017 UPDATE -------------------
I brought the truck in for the appointment and got a call about 4:30pm that they tried everything to get it to stop or not work including running water on the windshield, testing and checking all wires on the motor, blinker stalk, and sensor. So I picked up the truck and figured if it happens and I am local I drive over to the dealer and show them it's not working.
Fast forward 3 days later:
I had the wipers on low auto and was getting ready to drive through the car wash so I placed the wipers in the off mode so they wouldn't activate. After going through the carwash I turned the wipers to low auto and normally they will do one swipe and go to rest, but not this time. They stayed on low. I twisted the talk up and down, low to high and they went to high and back to low and I turned them off and they went off. Turned them back onto auto and they stayed on low wipe. So I turned them off and drove to the Nissan dealer which was about 2 miles away and showed the Service Manager the issue and he was perplexed that they wouldn't even recognize the auto feature. They were either Off, Low or High.
Now for the interesting part, we turned the truck off and restarted it and all was good. It's like it reset itself. So the service manager is calling Nissan this week to see what would cause it. Obviously a programming issue or bad sender from the sensor to stalk or something.

The truck is in the shop as the wipers stop and do not restart sometimes for a few hours or even a full day. Happened to be near the Nissan dealer when this happened and drove it into the service department and they took a video of the wiper stalk being turned and nothing happening. Checked fuse and good. Turned auto rain sensor off and still nothing. Left truck at the dealer as its useless in the rain and they gave me a nice 2017 Murano Platinum to drive until its fixed. Has to be either in the wiper stalk or the motor module.
