My 2018 Titan 4x4, purchased SEP 2018, lags or holds in 4th gear on flat terrain and especially traveling up an incline regardless how shallow of the incline. I have reported to the dealer at each oil change(5K), now 4x. They claim it is norm...maybe for a Titan. I have opportunities to drive/ride in 2018 Chev 4x4 and Ford. Neither has this problem.

My first Titan is a '04 Titan, purchased in APR 2004. The transmission failed on it after 267K + miles/AUG 2018. Yes, two different transmissions but I am sure this '18 Titan's transmission should not be performing like this. Also, occasionally, when accelerating, I feel a "slip" or hesitation in the transmission near 2nd gear. Dealership seems to be ignoring this issue.

Another problem I have with this truck is the cruise control. In rolling terrain and entering the upslope, the cruise control activates too abruptly; jumping the rpm up to 3-4K. My wife's Prius does not do this on the same roads.
Anyone experiencing the same with their Titan?

Yes, the transmission's gearing is fairly odd. It won't shift out of 4th until 40 mph so it makes it seem like the gear is hanging up. It's always bothered me too, but I just try to get past the jackass doing 38 in a 45 mph zone to allow it to shift. lol. The cruise control is, likewise, a little bit sensitive and downshifts early. You can maintain speed just fine up a hill without downshifting if you don't have cruise control active. That same hill with cruise control will make the truck downshift. Just little quirks we need to live with! I'm hoping the 2020's 9 speed will eliminate some of that.
