I have an 04 CC LE, off road, big tow Titan with 206k miles. I've changed out the rear diff and put in a TruTrac and MagTec cover about 10k miles ago. I've got cracked manifolds and I'm trying to decide if it's time to let it go.

Would you put a new exhaust system in and look for 300k or sell it and let the next guy deal with it?

Just a thought but if you do have cracked manifolds and a check engine light on you will probably have trouble selling it as is, and if you don't disclose the problem could have a very unhappy person to deal with when the purchaser does find out.

Yeah - I love the truck. However I have a few things going on. The cracked manifolds, AC mix actuator clicking, busted speaker out of center console dash, leaky power steering, and instrument cluster numbers get jumbled off and on.

I am just having a hard time deciding between selling this and having a truck payment... or putting 3500 into it and trying for 100k more miles.

You can fix the AC mix actuator, it's cheap and if you don't have the amp from the Rockford-Fosgate in the way it's pretty easy, great how to do it on this site.

When I recently put in a ZERO MILES motor, my mechanic so tastefully reminded me with a new motor, my truck is worth ~ 10-12K, without it, it is worth nothing put parts. Ask yourself, can you buy another truck comperably equipped for $3500.

The one that's deep in the dash? I do have the Rockford-Fosgate sound system.

Every thread I read talked about taking the entire dash out to get to it. Can you link the write up you are referring to?

I would fix it based on what you've got wrong with it. None of that is serious problems, and even if you spend 3500 fixing it that's about 6 months of a new floor size truck payments, then you are done vs. making payments for the next 6 years.

I think I jinxed myself. Service Engine Soon light came on this morning. AutoZone pulled the code P0452 - Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Low Input.

Haven't had a chance to research it much yet.

Do cracked manifolds need to be fixed? Mine are cracked too, and have been for some time. The check engine light has never come on, and I honestly think the truck sounds cooler with the cracked manifolds. I am wondering if cracked manifolds cause any other damage?

You think cracked manifolds and exhaust leaks sound "cool"? That's new

Yes. The catalytic converters are attached to the manifolds and bad enough leaks can hasten the demise of the honeycombs in the converters. If they fall apart, when you get a backpressure situation you can suck debris into your engine, which will then mean bye bye engine.

where did you get $3,500?

Im assuming you dont do your own work?

Nobody can really make this decision for you. If you want a newer truck, buy one. If you are low on funds and need to milk this one for all its got, fix it.

I was thinking around 2k for the exhaust fix at the time - which I will do the labor. For the dash clicking, I'm just not sure I want to pull out my dash for the actuators. I've seen people claim dealership wanted upwards of a grand for that. My oil pressure sending unit is bad ~ $60. My passenger tow mirror is broke ~ $100. Center Console Bezel is broke ~ $200.

It just adds up.

But the decision has been made - I ordered JBA LT headers (coated), cajun b pipes high flow catted, and an uprev. I'm going to use the stock exhaust after that for the time being.

I would cancel the uprev. Run fine without it. Just try to keep it out of WOT to be on the safe side. i expect to be bashed heavily by all who have paid for uprev and have been convinced its a must have with headers. Good luck.
