Are these essentially the same oil filters? 15208-31U1A is what came off it (replaced by 15208-31U1B)

Dealer told me 15208-9E000, but shows 15208-9E01A.

On the nissan wensite, it seems to suggest that 15208-31U1B replaces all of them.

One made in Japan (31U1B/MAHLE),, and other one made in Mexico.

Nissan uses the same oil filter for all engines I believe… so it should work.

if it screws on and the contact surface diameter is the same you are good to go.

This is only slightly true. They use the same thread pattern however the size of the filters varies based on the size of the engine. My Titan filter is an inch longer than my Murano filter. Now the murano, maxima, frontier and v6 obviously uses the same filter as it’s the same engine. But size is different.

indeed You are right. I just checked. But not all v6 uses the same length filter. they seems to have 2 filters length.

3.8l and 4.0l uses the same as the titan at 3.4 inch. Then you have one, 2.78 inch for the 3.5l and the 4 cylinders. But they are all the same diameter and thread size.

Its mind boggling, though, how many different part numbers have come across for basically the same filter.

So, a Supersession would be a NEWER part number, correct?

Part Number: 15208-9E01A
Supersession(s): 15208-31U00; 15208-31U01; 15208-31U0A; 15208-31U0B; 15208-31U0C; 15208-31U0D; 15208-31U1A; 15208-31U1B; 15208-7B000; 15208-9E000; 15208-9E000A; 152089E01A

I think you mean" superceded", not "supersession", which means that long list are the OLDER part numbers.
