3 4x4 front drive axles sheared in 5 days
Took my 2004 to the dealer this morning because 4x4 would not engage while moving. All I got was a grinding sound. The techs took a look and found out I had sheared one of the front drive axles. A new front tranny will be here next week. Until then, its 2 wheel driving in the snow.
I talked with the service dude this afternoon. He says this is the third one in 5 days, a 2004, a 5 and a 6. He also stated there were a few sheared axles this time last year. Air temps have been -10 to 40 F.
4X4 plus cold, snow and ice a problem?
