did you get your blinker fluid flushed at the same time??? j/k bro, no you are the first i have heard of..
I thought I'd read around here somewhere that our ECU wouldn't hold a 3*? Hence the 2* that everyone has? :dunno:
blinker fluid?? haha thats a good one,but no MY tech was able to move it up from stock 0* to 3* insted of the normal 2*, ill took a pic of the printed paper that came straight out of the NISSAN Programmer/Computer..

The bottom part that says CRRCTD IGN TIM says 2*. Just a guess but if yours was stock -1* (14* instead of 15*), that might account for why it was adjusted 3* to gain the 2* advance. I'm betting you finalized with a 17* initial ign timing like the rest of us. You should be feelin' really good now with that kind of gain.

But notice the part circled. Wouldn't that indicate that it only adjusted it to two degrees?

I think it was adjusted 3* to set it at 17* and get the 2* gain over the stock 15*. I've read there have been a few found that were set lower than 15* from the factory.
It adjusted 2 degrees, that is what corrected means.
But hey, even the 2* advance is still badazz!
I have read, that the most you can advance is 2 degrees. I heard it will default out, if you try for a higher number. Thus, they might have tried for 3, but defaulted back to 2.

This is correct,I think you can initial set to 5 degrees, but ECU will default it back to 2 once Consult is disconnected
Cipher does the same. You can set to a "target" of + or - 5 degree and see it in the target box, but it shows "actual" adjustment is + or - 2 degree. Bottom of his paper shows "monitored" adjustment is 2 degrees.

Nothing new, but he's got a bit more power now. :)
I didnt pay any extra just $15, he told me its a lil more advance than the regular 2* that everyone else does, even after I only paid him 15 bucks lol..so Idk its pulls hard as **** now so its cool.
You guys running the 2 degree advance I assume are having to run premium is this correct?
No, 87 is safe and the normally used octane. Some use 89, but it is not required for this minor adjustment. You still have sensors for antiknock active if it were ever an issue. No one has ever reported any problems with this Mod, other than trying to find somebody to do it for them. :)

To insure that spark knock won't retard the timing during moderate to hard acceleration, I use 89 octane. Many members use 87, but I want peak performance available at all times.
I'm only running 87 octane, might be defeating the purpose.I've never heard it ping so either all is OK or the knock sensor is retarding the timing.Probably wouldn't hurt to hook up the Consult and do some real time driving to see what is going on with this.
Premium is running $3.49 right now and at 12MPG I'm not going to "feed the beast" more than necessary
I run 89 and it's wicked from the stand-still.
So if you use 87 octane from the pump is there any reason a booster can like 104 couldn't be used? I have a company card and I get shat on for anything other than 87 octane. I certainly wouldn't mind running a booster can in the tank with 87?

anyone? anyone? :smoke:
