I've got HID's in the highs and lows. I love em except for the high beams sometimes due to the warm up time.

I might replace the 35w highs with a 55w halogen.

I might lose a little light but I'll also be able to flash the highs because I don't have to wait for them to warm up.

Opinions?

Keeping the lows obviously.

What's the difference in ignition time between 35W and 55W?

oops nevermind. You're going from HID to Halogen

35W HID is around 3200 lumen vs. 55W halogen is around 1700 lumen

Whoa crazy! I knew it would be less, but not half.

I think I'll just stick with HID, and deal with the 10 second warm up time.

The most popular combo is the 35W HID low beams and stock high beams. HIDs take too long to come up to full brightness, as you've found, and 55W HIDs, IMO, is just asking for fried wires and melted housings.
