CR is still reporting on the 2004 they tested way back when.

Enjoy your Toyota, which has been dropped from CR's recommended list due to camshaft, transmission, and tailgate problems.

I hope your new toyota engine grenades and the tailgate cracks just from you closing it! I mean come on man, why would you come on here and write that? Why not ask for help or suggestions on how to get nissan to provide a loaner vehicle or something of the sorts? Do you think that with its bad consumer reports rating that a toyota dealership will even take it (your titan) in on trade? I dunno man, the vehicle sucks so much that, it might be better to just set it on fire and let insurance pay you for it. Hell, just wait another couple months and it will probably spontaneously explode since it sucks so much. I'll cross my fingers for you.

The paint bubbled? That's not one I'd heard about before. To be honest with you, I'm surprised that the dealer agreed to warranty it at all. And this wouldn't be true just for Nissan, but ANY dealer of any make. I'm surprised they didn't say it was due to "environmental fallout" and send you on your way. Hope it all works out for you though. Best of luck.

You're getting rid of the Titan because of bubbling paint that is being fixed under warranty...that makes a lot of sense.

Do some research before you decide on a Tundra. The Ford dealer gave me a video of the F150 compared to the Tundra & Silverado. You should see the Tundra's frame wobble on part of thier testing grounds. It's scarry. That thing flexes way too much. It also doesn't help that thier crossmembers are rivited on instead of welded. Maybe it's sufficient, but it looks like Toyota cut corners.

I love the Titan just pissed Im stuck without a vehicle. Again. Second time in one month. I wouldnt get a Tundra (rated above average). Im thinking about a late 80s earlys 90s Yota pickup. maybe a new tacoma. reading the 2008 consumer reports buying guide (not biased by the way-) it specifically notates certain problem areas with the 05 and 06 nissan titan as with other trucks as well. in fact it was rated below average in reliability. this is in the used vehicle section-in the 07 and 08 models section it rates average. it could be just the specific dealership with horrible service but they should condsider that they are representing Nissan.

The 5.7L Tundra is rated below-average and is no longer on CR's recommended list.

If it's not biased then my $hit is made of gold. Would you like to buy a few ounces?

Hoping someone smart out there is refering to the 08 CR buying guide (extra help obviously needed-pg. 209 auto reliability) the toyota tundra for the years 01 02 03 04 05 06 the used car veridct is better and the new car prediction is "better than average". it's also listed under the good bets list. moving the the 08 models auto ratings the tundra is rated 78 or very good. once again, even though it's rated well, its not the truck im looking for.

"Someone smart" says the guy with Truck Nutz on his Titan...

The 5.7L Tundra, which is the only one I was ever referring to, didn't exist for 01...02...03...04...05...06. That's fine if you want a different year. I don't put Toyota on a pedestal. Yeah, the 22R is bulletproof, the IFS is junk and will fall apart fast if you use it offroad often, same goes with the front outers. Birfield anyone?

The only Toyota I'd buy is an FJ40. Different strokes for different folks, these days Toyota is a name whose reliability is nothing like it used to be yet they're charging a premium for their vehicles and their sales people are arrogant.

I'll pass, but you go right ahead and go down that road if you want. Apparently CR is the bible.
