If I get a SE CC 4x4 does that automatically get the "offroad package"? And if the answer is no, whats different about the two? My dealer is not being clear on this.
Also:
When totaling up options he also had the RF system with bench seat AND the Popular package with bench seat on his list of what was in the truck. Aren't they the same thing except for the radio/speaker set up? You have one or the other, not both right? When I corrected him he seemed unsure. You guys are the experts. What up with that? I know you have to have the RF OR Popular to get a 4x4. But both?

No, OffRoad is an option. Looks like the only difference is the RF (edit: oops, I meant the difference between the 2 bench packages) . The below is from Edmunds.com

K07 Rockford Fosgate w/Bench
Includes split bench seat, 350-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system with 6-disc in-dash CD changer, steering wheel audio controls, autodimming interior mirror, external temperature gauge, compass, universal remote transmitter and power adjustable pedals. INCLUDES K01. NOT AVAILABLE with K09.

K03 Popular w/Bench
Includes split bench seat, mid-grade audio system with 6-disc in-dash CD changer, steering wheel audio controls, autodimming interior mirror, compass, external temperature gauge, universal remote transmitter and power adjustable pedals. INCLUDES K01. NOT AVAILABLE with K05, K07, K09

I don't know why they offer autodimming mirror. The car comes with tinted rear window as standard.

There are alot of differences, just the offroad package requires one of the packages amati5 mentioned. Below is from the nissan website as to what is included with the offroad package that isnt standard with the 4x4 option.

Off-Road Package
(XE 4x4, SE 4x2 and 4x4, LE 4x4
• Rancho® shocks
• Lower final gear ratio (3.36:1); similar to a four-speed automatic 4.10:1
• 17" x 7.5" Aluminum-alloy wheels
• P285/70R17 B.F. Goodrich® Rugged Trail® OWL tires
• Skid plates - oil pan (4x2), transfer case (4x4), lower radiator (4x2 and 4x4)
• Fog lights (standard on LE)
• Active Brake Limited-slip (standard on all 4x4 models)
• Tow hooks (standard on all 4x4 models)
• Electronic locking differential (late availability)

This package requires Preferred Package on XE; requires either the Popular Package or Rockford Fosgate Package on SE; requires Big Tow Package on LE.

Please excuse my lack of Titan knowledge. I understand from you guys that the "RF with bench" and the "Popular with bench" are the exact same thing except the RF with bench comes with the "premium stereo". Everything else is the same, except price of course. My dealer tried to add both of these packages together and bill me for both till I corrected him when making a trial/initial order.

On the 4x4 vs the "off-road" package. You guys tell me it's seperate things. The dealer said when you say, "SE CC 4x4" you get the "off road package" stuff included. Is he wrong there too?

On the Nissan web site I tried to add the "off road package" to a SE CC 4x4 with RF/bench seat, and it said I would have to change my drivetrain option to 4x2.
if you don't get the off-road package, what is it you don't get? Skid plates, Ranch shocks, etc....? He also said you automatically get fog lights when you say "4x4" on the CC SE.
Sorry for the ignorance, just wanna be clear on what I order.

Here is a link to the Titan brochure: It should answer all of your questions. Amazing how little some of the salesmen know. I could never get a brochure from a dealer; had to request one from the Nissan web site; it took about a week to arrive.

Check out Edmunds.com.

I have the SE CC 4x4, W/OUT the off road package. It is a seperate package. The SE CC 4x4 w/out the O.R. Pkg does NOT does come with the fog lights. The RF Pkg w/ Bench is a completely seperate package from teh Pop Pkg w/ bench. The difference between the two is the RF stereo (w/sub woofer). Do not pay for both, because they are two different packages. Hope this helps. I am in northern central FL if you need some local help.

I do not have everything on the list above..

You do get the Active Brake Limited Slip, Tow hooks, and skid plates on the fuel tank and the oil pan.

People have their own reasons for getting the Off Road Package. I do not do serious off roading. I am a Civil Engineer designing new subdivisions, roadways, and drainage systems. Alot of the inspections I do, require me to travel through Florida's sandy soils. I am not playing in the mud holes, or seeing how much sand/mud I can throw on my buddies truck.

My reasons for NOT gettingthe O.R. Pkg are:

The lower gears = less gas milage (my opinion, others think the lower gears don't effect it that much)

I didn't want the stiffer Rancho shocks, maybe 10% of the time I am in the sand, the rest of the time, I would rather have a smoother ride.

Wheels/tires didn't really care. I plan on getting the factory size tires except BFG All terrains (when the factory tires are retired).

Fog Light - I plan on installing them myself.

I just could jusitfy paying the extra $$ for stuff I really don't need. And trust me, the truck performs awesome in hub deep Florida sand. Just my opinion.

whoa...

FLfinfan your dealer doesn't have a clue. I've had no problems configuring my "wish lists" on the Nissan website very similar to what you're asking. It shouldn't give you any problems selecting the off-road package with the 4x4 drivetrain, as the previous posts stated, they're separate things. The fact that he's trying to sell you the RF Bench and the SE Popular Bench illustrates that he's either completely clueless or trying to rip you off.

Comparing a 4X4 with or without the difference is

More skid plates (radiator, oil pan, and transfer case)
Rancho shocks
Different wheels and tires
Different rear (this is included with the Big Tow)
Fog Lights

The difference in the Bench packages is just the radio.

Thanks for all the indepth info. I don't do alot of serious off road stuff just alittle playing in the sand, trail riding and beach stuff. Heres pics of the extent of my off roading extreme-ness (tounge in cheek). 4x4 about once or twice every month or so, sometimes more when I can hook up with old high school buddies

http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=2096172&uid=609633&members=1

Also need it sometimes when I visit parents and family in DC and Rhode Island.

i got the offroad pack...and am glad i did..I love the wheels and the larger tires...they really fit the truck well...also, the front skid plate while i hope to never ever use...looks nice and clean and is made nicely....also, the ranchos are not harsh AT ALL...the ride is SUPERB...in fact, the big improvement with the RANCHOs is the elimination of "roll" when going around a corner....The Tires are a really good all terrain tire too....BFGs.

Hey Geece1, does the factory 6 disk that comes with the SE Popular package have the steering wheel mounted audio controls like the RF package? I'm not sure that it does...

I have the RF in the Fronty and the GF does not in the Xterra. But the controls are the same and the head unit looks the same too. I just got more thump with CDs. Radio sounds the same though, unless I really crank it and fiddle with the bass alot. :(

Yes, all SE Pop packages come with steering wheel audio controls. I almost never touch the radio (after programming my favroite stations).

FLfinfan,

Sounds like your dealer is running a scam on you to up the price, telling you that the offroad package is already added to the 4x4 model which is not true at all. Id watch out for him or go to another dealer maybe only to get a second opinion. Sometimes dealers will play those types of games to up the price of the truck creating more profit for them and the dealership. Check the facts on the titan website they are black and white not confusing, id bring that info with you to that BS dealer. Goodluck. Only reason im 100% on that is because when the e-locker is avalible ill be picking mine up and ive done a ton of research as well all did when looking into it, its similar to the rig your lookin at. SE CC 4x4 with RF captian package, offroad, and utility, color: smoke.

Thats why you guys here are very important to future Titan owners, and current ones as well. Information is power, however seemingly unimportant it might be to outsiders.
I will give the sales guy this though (know him personally, which means nothing most of the time when it's his job), he is one of those guys at the big desk, not the floor walker. He might not deal with this part of the game too much, I think people below him handle this stuff. But he still should know his stuff. I checked with him 1st because I knew him, coached his kid. But he is obviously not gonna do me any favors. So I will be sure not to jump on the 1st offer I get.
