Hey,

I'm looking into getting 5100's(front and rear) for my 2012 PRO4X.

I'm looking to at least level out my truck, and maybe get a little lift.

If I do put them on a higher setting would I need new UCA?

I have 20" fuel off road rims with 33" KO2s right now if this changes anything.

I have a 2015 SV CC as well. I have Bilstein 5100 on the lowest setting in the front with a 1.5" spacer and have coil bucket contact. So I'm having to look into getting new UCA's.

I also have 20x9 Fuel Octane wheels with 33" tires.

Are the coils on the PRO4X and the SV the same? Would it make a difference?

Do the rear 5100's offer any additional height without blocks? Or will I have to make the front match the rear.

I'm happy just having it leveled and one day getting bigger tires.

No additional height in the rear from 5100's. Have to put some sort of block in the back if you want to gain a little back there.

Ah ok, don't think I'll do that then. I'll level it out and go with bigger tires in the future.

What setting should I put the front 5100's on to get a good level?

Depends on the type of ride quality you are looking for. The lower the setting, the better quality ride you'll get. I put mine on the lowest setting and used a spacer instead.

You think if I put them on the middle setting I would run into CBC problems?

No I have mine on the middle setting and have no cbc at all. I have heard of guys with the 1.5" spacer getting contact. When I did mine. I went middle setting, got energy suspension extended bump stops ($10 on ebay), and I did prg endlinks and sway bar bushings. I bought cam bolts for the alignment too, but I did not need them. Other members recommended the bump stops, they were cheap and easy to install (did have to widen the hole just a hair),but said it could save me from crushing the strut under too much stress.

OP - My understanding is that the 5100 struts are the same length (or height) as the stockers. You get the added height by "pre-loading" the spring (middle or top setting). So you not really making the truck taller, your making the spring more compressed before setting the weight of the truck onto the springs. Final result is less spring compression, a higher wheel well measurement and a bit stiffer ride.

With that being said you should not have CBC since the strut is the same size and you should not need new camber bolts to achieve a proper alignment.

I also installed the 5100's all around. Partly because I hear they are great quality, partly to "lift" the front a tad and partly because they just look good.

The camber bolts are a crap shoot some have needed them some don't.Like I said I didn't need them, but the guy that I helped me when I had the question did.

I'll share my experience on this...so, If you want to sit perfectly level/very slight lift you will need the 5100's on the middle setting and a 1" spacer on the top. I had that as my old setup before long travel on my 11' pro-4x with 33's on stock wheels and I sat perfectly level/had very minor lift. I did however have CBC! Like really bad. So in order to get what your looking for (level/slightly higher in the front) you would need the Bils, a 1" spacer (I suggest PRG) and new UCAs. Thats my experience at least.

You think CBC would be something that bilstien would advise you about on their site. But maybe you where getting it because of the 1" spacer you added?

From PRG's site;

"These shocks offer 3 height settings...0-1-2inches of lift. On the 08+ 4wd titans we dont suggest more than the fist notch of 1", you can set it taller but the ride starts to degrade in our opinion. On any other titan, you can run them at any of the settings. Most Titans will look just a tad nose-down with these shocks installed...not quite a true level. On the 08+ 4wd, at 1" of lift the truck will look the same as the other versions on 2" lift....got it? good.
These shocks are slightly longer than stock. Bilstein made them as long as possible without any coilbucket contact, we dont suggest adding spacers, ANY SPACERS, to these unless you have aftermarket upper a-arms and then it gets pretty specific what thickness spacers can be run as well as cam bolts and endlinks. All that being said, using these shocks as they were intended requires nothing else be added.
Lots of interweb yapping about combining these shocks with the 08+ 4wd/pro4x springs....DONT! just a bunch of bad info"
