A/C Not Cooling?

22546 Views 9 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Phasterthanyou
I tried to do a search but did not find anything.

My A/C is not cooling as good as it used to. This is especially noticeable in the Florida heat. Even after a 15 minute drive the cab has not cooled off very much. Blower motor seems to be working fine and plenty of air is coming out but it's just not cold enough. In cabin air filter was recently changed with no effect. Any ideas what could be wrong?

This is on a '06 SE CC with 115,000 miles.

Not sure if it is related but my heater hasn't worked in a long time. When I switch the control knob from blue (cool) to red (heat) nothing happens. Air continues to blow but it is not hot air. Don't really need the heater in FL so I never bothered to try and fix it. However, I can't live without my A/C.

Thanks.

Maybe an ac recharge? Ive been thinking of getting one done myself.
Sounds like the blend door isn't functioning. It could be jammed or the actuator is stuck/dead.
Im in the same predictament...except my heater works like a champ.
Im figuring I need to have the AC recharged. Anyone know where to check the freon level? I have read there is a valve of some sorts on the firewall in the engine bay that tends to get clogged or malfunctions...anyone have some insight?
I have an 05 CC with about 89k.
i just got a recall in the mail about the climate controls not doing what they are suppose to. suppose to be the blend door or something like that...

I wonder if this would include my 06 with dual climate controls because even after replacing the actuator on top of the heater box my drivers side heat doesn't get hot in the winter and now recently the passenger side temperture blend door actuator started poppping when going from hot back to cold, like it was popping out of the pully, over actuating is what I would say, because the gears inside the actuator are in perfect shape. The Nissan dealers near me have no frigging clue what to do..

where is this actuator? I have the same problem
I had this problem with my T. Mine has 2 actuators one inside the dash and the other is right above your gas pedal. I read somewhere that newer titans have 3 in not sure where the 3rd is but I'm pretty sure it's on the passenger side somewhere under the glove box. The one on top of the gas pedal is your vent door actuator, and the one inside the dash is for the climate control.

That's incase you have some clicking going on, but then again it might have something to do with your ac not blowing cold. Also check your system for leaks. I recently changed out my condenser because of a small leak.

Wow, talk about an old thread back from the dead! Love it.
Here's what was/is wrong with my T.. The clicking I was hearing last summer was my passenger side blend door actuator. I bought a new one and installed it and the clicking/over-actuation stopped. It is the actuator located above the passenger side floor mat on the bottom of the heater box.
The reason I am not getting heat on my driver's side in the winter is not due to the climate controls or the actuator, something is jammed/broken with the blend door itself for the drivers side. After having the dash half way apart and discovered this I stopped.. Pulling the entire dash and heater box out is beyond me, in both skill and patience.. When increasing the temperature from 60 to 90 for the drivers side I can hear a click-pop sound when the display reaches 75 (and saw the actuator raise and "pop"). Its the actuator and door mechanism on top of the heater box behind the glove box, near impossible to access!!! For now, I have just accepted freezing my a** off in the winter.. Luckily I live in Florida where it doesn't get too cold for too long..
