Sup guys, well my truck is a 2005 KC XE with 4x4 Offroad package. Got towed from my place of residence last firday (july 10th). I retrieved it monday and the ABS and SLIP (which I assume is traction control) lights are both on. Also, my 4 wheel drive will not engage.

Maybe someone here has had the same problem, or the tow truck dude messed with a sensor or something. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you gents.

Have your battery checked that may be the problem.

As for the 4wd not engaging check your axles too to see if one of them popped out.

Your 4wd will not engage if your truck thinks it is slipping; there is a good chance that something got fouled up with one of your ABS/VSS censors. If you are still within warranty Nissan can test the censors for you free of charge. If not, Discount tire, as well as others I am sure, have a device that can tell you if the censors are getting a signal or not...it won't tell you anything else, but at least you might be able to rule out the censors.

If you need a rear censor I think I may have a few extra, let me know.

took my truck to the snow and got pulled out due to the ABS light on. How embarassing... Big truck gettin' stuck. Faulty ABS rear driver side sensor bad, Replaced at the dealer for about $100 bucks and now it works. If you can find out which one it is, replace it yourself and save you $50 bucks.

My Drivers left went out due to the lift. They said it stretched out the line. But i agree JT72 find out which one is not working so you can replace it yourself. The dealer charges too much for you to do it yourself.

Where's the cheapest place to get on the Right Front sensor?

Your best bet is the stealership.

This is one of the reasons I joined this site. I could’ve written this same question. Never would have tied the ABS to the 4X4 but I guess it makes sense as a protection feature.

I just put a different rearend in mine over the weekend and having the same prob. Should have been easier on the sensors when pulling them out.

Good info here. Now just need to figure out which one is bad.

I recently just spoke with a Lemon Lawyer and he had nothing nice to say about the Titans and won ALL of his cases. Also, Nissan USA pays for settlement so nothing out of your pocket. I think i might take him up on his offer. I feel the same way as you do. Let me know if you want his number.

my titan is a pile of sh!t too. Ive had nothing but problems with it. Day I bought it, im towing a trailer and the exhaust manifold blew out due to a clogged cat, 4 grand at nissan for news cats and manifold and fuel pump, then rear axle bearing took a dump and melted my sensors and ruined the axle, it sat in shop for 3 weeks trying to find an axle, now the 4x4 doesnt work.... Im trying to get it fixed so i can sell it. Kinda sucks because I got the windows tinted with visors, painted the wheels black, volant intake, true trac, PRG lift, made it my own thinking it would be a decent truck and I would have it for a while.... sucks,

anyone know why my 4x4 might not be engaging? I have no ABS OR SLIP light on???
