Hi everyone! I have a very annoying problem on my Nissan Titan 05. AC wont blow through the front vents regardless of where I set the control. I know its the actuator but Nissan gave me the "$700-$800" estimate to fix. Seems a lot for an inexpensive part and labor. Does anyone know how to manually turn or make the AC blow through the front vents until I decide that I want to spend the money with Nissan? It would really help me a lot. It only blows on the defrost top and side vents but its still hot in the truck. Please help.

Thank you

I had the same problem happen to me years ago. I reached under the dash on the driver's side above the gas pedal and jiggled the cam lever that controls the dash vent to defroster mode door and it started working again. I applied some silicone grease on the cam and lever and I haven't had a problem since. You might want to try that before you start spending $$$ on it.

As I mentioned in my previous post I was having difficulty with my selector not going to defrost. I did as miketan did and it worked like a charm. Just pushed on the cam lever a bit and it went to defrost and seems to be working as usual now. I should have returned to this forum much sooner. I resolved 3 issues I've had in the last two weeks. Thanks TT

I was able to reach up there as is.

I'm having a similar problem but it will not switch completely from vent to defrost. It will switch from full vent to vent/floor but no further. This is fine in the summer for the AC but it makes it difficult to defrost/defog the windshield during the winter months.

I was able to get my AC to blow out the vents by toggling the cam also. My only problem it sticks in that position again if I move the airflow to another position.
Thank you for the info, it was a lifesaver for me.
Living in S. FLA AC is all I need

It can be there until I get rid of the truck, All I need is AC.

Just wanted to thank miketan for that fix and add a little. 2004 titan 4x4. My air flow switch was white plastic that rotates when pushed. Mine was found by removing the small panel on the driver side of the cup holder. It is a couple inches into the consol straight up. Should be easy to locate, just find something that moves with your fingers:). Thanks again, air conditioned feet sux.

Mr. Miketan - just FYI - Ten years almost to the day later, your post just helped another Titan (2009) owner repair his vent issue without spending a dime. Bravo sir! Thank you!
