Hi everyone this is my first post. I have been getting a ton of info from here and after reading and searching I didn't find any posts to this question. I have been considering a double din nav system and was wondering if installing it will lose the audio controls from the back seat area. Also, does anyone have any pics of an Pioneer AVIC D3 installed in a titan. Thats the HU im considering. I had the AVIC N3 in my car that I traded in and still have it (i'm trying to sell it) but wanted to opt for the double din. Any input or advice would be awesome.

I think you will lose them. I would like know for sure too. I know some of these new HUs have 2 "zones"

No, you will not have rear audio controls with an aftermarket HU - at least you will not be able to use the existing controls. It may be possible to find an aftermarket unit which has multi-level audio controls, but I have not heard of one.

The present controls are part of the Nissan Rockford system, as such, the Rockford HU/amp must interact with the auxillary controls - one should not expect an aftermarket unit would provide that feature. There would have to be special engineering and design work done to match the new unit with the Nissan system, given a rather limited market for such a feature, no manufacturer is going to spend the time and money to integrate his radio with the Nissan factory equipment.

Thanks for your response. I guess I will have to loose that feature. Is there anything usefull I can put in that spot insted so It's not wasted space? There is always a drop down DVD monitor, but I already have the pre-wired system from Nissan. Is there an OEM monitor or aftermarket one I could purchase. Sorry I have so many questions, in car video is something new for me.

Myron and Davis make a direct drop down replacement in 7.8" or 9".
