Going to install some used tires I bought soon and get aligned but I just remember that since the rims are being dismounted I should probably buy new tpms sensors. That bright yellow indicator light is annoying. Will any aftermarket replacement do? Also I've never bought any before and when I was at Americas tires awhile back I noticed that you need a specific one depending on the psi you run in the tires as they are also rated? Is it worth the hassle to replace them?

Just shop around online, thats what I did & paid under $100 for mine. Had Discount Tire reprogram them to my truck when they put the new tires on.

Yeah I've seen some for like 50 but they have a regular stem mine right now are the aluminum? Stem ones which I like cause it's easier to check psi and pump air in them. Also did discount charge you to swap out the sensors and reprogram them?

The stem doesn't matter unless you really like the metal stem. I bought a set of Schrader TPMS that were supposed to be OEM replacements but I had multiple failures. I went to Discount Tire and they set me up with the brand they use and it worked just fine.

I just trashed my sensors when I got new rims u don't need them. Don't forget the old days when people actually looked at their tires and checked the oil. And as far as the light goes that's nothing a piece of black tape can't fix.

Yeah I still check my tires usually weekly with a gauge regardless but the light is annoying lol is there a way to tell which one is bad? So I don't buy all 4?

Also can a tire shop reprogram the tpms to a different psi? Also can I buy any tpms sensor or do they have to be for Titans or nissans specifically? Might be a dumb question but never dealt with tpms problems

If 1 is bad the other 3 are on their way out, just replace all 4 of them at the same time.

Cool yeah that's what I figure I usually replace in pairs as a good habit so I'll do all 4. so any tpms sensor that I order will work, they're universal?

And what about the psi can they calibrate to any pressure?

You'll need ones that work with the Nissans computer, there is certain ones for our truck. The PSI is set by the computer not the sensors so as far as I know we can't change the PSI.

The Discount Tire ones are new, or newish. I have three sets of wheels/tires/sensors. If all three sets have the same sensors from DT then they can program to all mimic each other. I put winter tires on they look like the summer tires to the computer. No more need to relearn the TPMS when swapping tire sets.

I only have one set of DT sensors so they set them to mimic one of my other sets of tires. The third set still has a unique set of ID codes so I'll have to relearn for those.

Those are supposed to be direct replacements. But those may be the same ones I tried that didn't work for my '07 Titan. That's about half of what I paid. If it doesn't work, send 'em back.

So guess I'm not going to replace them since I check my pressures regularly and if they are bad I don't want to pay for the labor of dismounting and mounting the tires again. Is it easy to un plug that bulb? That's If these trucks even use bulbs in the cluster not the ones that are soldered on.
