Hi everyone,

i dont' own a Titan but this forum seems to have alot of excellent technical information that i couldn't find anywhere else, so hoping i can get some help, 2010 QX56 out of no where all the lights on the dash started flashing, RPM, Speedometer, oil pressure gauges started going nuts, and car was jerking when switching gears, took it to the dealer...they replaced the battery (took them 4 days to do that) car is now running fine but the service engine soon light is on...flashing 3 codes P0101 - P1212 - 1001. These are all major communication error codes, one is a MAF code, common element among all of them is the ECU, has anyone here had the same issue? do i need a new IPDM? can i just change the ECU relay? truck is running fine but not sure if i can keep running it? its my wife's truck to haul the kids so not comfortable letting her go around with a busted truck. Any help would be appreciated Thank you

I have an Armada and follow the Titan forum as well because the truck guys seem to be a bit more hands on then Armada/QX56 drivers. Anyway, I have not seen any posts with conditions you are describing. Have you tried clearing the codes to see and see if they return? Seems if the truck is running fine, the codes may be left over from your original issue. Not sure why the dealer wouldn't have cleared them for you though.

Days between dealer visit and engine light? If only a couple of days...TAKE IT BACK!! Someone left a scalpel in the cavity during surgery. It most likely left without any codes in the system, but.....

Any time there's a cluster of codes that all seem to point back at the ECU, TCU or ABS control, I recommend getting a code pull from someone that can pull the C and U codes as well. Reason being that the common issue may be a segment of the CAN not working or a grounded wire somewhere that is easier traced with all the information. P codes only look at endpoint issues (sensor loopback). This really is like doing your own brain surgery.

So got the update, IPDM needs to be changed, i knew that from the beginning and told them as such but that didn't stop them from fleecing me for an extra 3 hours labor ($405 CDN) just to check and make sure that is the problem....guess it must be expected from the dealership and will allow me to hold them responsible if the problem comes back....anyways hopefully the problem is fixed now.
