Anyone else noticed this too after buying Titan

I own my Titan now for about 2.5 weeks before this I had a F150. When I had F150 nobody else will try to race me from the stop light or just while driving, but now I notice that the guys who own the American brand trucks try to always race me from the stop light or on the road. Never seen other Titan or Tundra trying to do the same. I was wondering if it is other people notice too.
It is the samething I notice when i ride my motorcycle, the guys in the modified Civics & eclipses try to race thinking that they can beat a motorcycle.

nah its just that f150 is so common no one even pays attention and all people want to beat a bike man
The Titan has the hidden Bullseye on it's back...
Most F-150 owners already know the Titan has them covered, as do many Chev owners...The Dodge boys have a good shot at a stop light-stop light and they seem to be more likely to give me the "nod" when we're waiting for a green light...
When I got my truck back wayyyy back in 04', I put down a lot of F-150's....They've learned since then...

BTW I think the F-150 is a great truck, but it's a fact not opinion that it's slower then the the Titan...
Maybe it's people who have heard how fast the truck is and don't believe it or want to see it in person. I am sure the "Jap" thing plays in there somewhere, but most people I have talked to know the Titan's reputation for being quick.
Funny I've owned my Titan for 7 months now & I've never been challenged by any of the Dodge, Ford or Chebby guys. Guess they already know :boxing:.
Hah hah..... that's funny. Weird thing is, I've never been challenged by anyone with any credible chance of winning. Usually, it's some asshat in an old Dakota or beat up Chebbie with 100 less HP who has a grudge against anything with a Japanese badge on it. They're fun to play with... especially when their buddies or girlfriend are with them. :flame: They don't like that very much!
I've noticed that, and I often give the nod to the chebby boys. I respect the F-150 too much that truck has a lot of heart.

what I can't get over is my manager who drives a 4.0 ranger and constantly wants to race me and critisizes my truck... I usually just take it I find it funny
I've noticed quite the opposite. Most won't look at me, let alone want to race. They all know they'd lose badly so....they tend to steer clear of me.

Now that IS funny...

The Titans have been around for 4 yrs, the word has been out...Unless you are a Dodge 1500 w/Hemi, don't mess with the Titans...
Nowdays hardly anybody (with a truck)gives me the nod, but I do miss the early years when I've had more then one in one day...
I do get jokers in cars that have to be "put down" still...
Around here, I think everyone's already been schooled by a Titan as the only time a worthy opponent has tried to race was someone driving a brand-new Tundra 5.7L 4x4 (No plates on it yet). After hearing how quick these trucks were, I thought it would be a good match.

Of the two runs we had, each of us won one. The 2nd run I "lost" because my buddy was in front of me at the light on his BMW K1200S and I didn't want to jump and run him over, so the Tundra got a 1/2 length head start and, surprisingly, didn't gain much, if anything, beyond that. We were literally equally fast and it came down to who got a better reaction time.

I thought for sure I would've been spanked and he'd walk away from me but that didn't happen.

Other than that, nobody wants to take me on. Oh well. :D

Yea the guys in cars seem to be the worst, everything from Civics to yesturday a Sable that thought he could beat me, needless to say the Sable was Toast.
I've never been challeged, not one time. I often wonder if it's the driving style that brings this on? I guess i'm too easy on it.

Wow, good point. Maybe it is the driver....lol. I don't drive like a teenager.
It is defiantly driving style. When i am in saving gas mode i rarely get any races. Except for the ones who try to fly past me. lol When i am in teenager driving mode i get races left and right. I am undefeated so far but i haven't had any real competition yet.
I get the occasional Hemi reving at me in bumper to bumper traffic when there is absolutely no chance of racing. I just blow 'em a kiss and watch them get all worked up.
I don't know about the driving style bringing it on. I was sitting in the drive-through this past weekend at the BK Lounge and this guy in a 3/4 ton Chevy (probably mid 80's and listening to "This is Our Country" song) looks over at me and then proceeds to peel out looking at me the whole time. Not sure what that was about, but I was impressed with the amount of rust on his vehicle that the axles didn't snap and the wheels didn't fall off.

I never race in the truck anyway. I do race down the Mass Pike everyday to and from work in my commuter vehicle. Though driving 85-90 with the rest of traffic isn't really racing I guess.
LOL @ the blowing them a kiss.

I haven't had anymore try to mess with me yet in the Titan. Only race challenge I had was with a new 07 Tundra owner I met when I had less than 600miles on my truck so I declined.

Unless we are in a completely desolate industrial area, I wouldn't even think twice about trying to run someone. Too many factors to race on the street now. Maybe I'm just getting old too... :(
I'm too old to race and it's a truck not a sports car. However, if I was challenged with some wager on it, I will not back down.
