I am thinking that it's not a good idea, maybe I should look for an older truck with one on it. Has anyone used a titan as a plow truck? any advice?

I bought my Titan brand new in 2004 and installed a plow on it that winter . I am most likely the first person with a plow on a Titan. I posted your exact question on this forum and had alot of negative feed back. Well after 6 years (5 winters) with the plow i am proud to say that this truck is a great plow truck. Recently the truck started riding like **** and i figured the plowing was starting to takes its toll. Turned out to be worn u-joints , replaced the u-joints and installed some new tires and my baby rides smooth as silk again. Only advice i can give you is to install a set of PRG's front coilovers , i installed the donahoe's for a $1100 ( they give you the lift you need in the front and are heavy duty yet ride great ). They also are durable , the stock front struts were toast after the first winter plowing. I made close to $35000 in the 5 winters i have the plow. Fronts struts , u-joints , tires and a new battery in 6 years ( knock on wood :bangit: ) Dont be afraid to put a plow on...

How many accounts are you plowing? I have a Fisher Homesteader 7'4", I use for 3 100+ yard drive ways and its great. Little if any wear and tear. If you are worried, install Timberns and from listening to the transmission storiers I'd becareful with the dragging. Take a look at Boss SportDuty 7'6"

You need minimum 2" of lift in the front , otherwise your hitch will be hanging to low when the plow is up and it will hit curbs and scrap driveways when pulling in. Also HD struts in the front.

I just install a Boss sport duty 7'6" on my 04 Titan. Its a poly plow. You can put this on without any modifications. Boss only recomends the sport duty 7'0" but I would go for the 7'6". As for the standard duty steel or poly you would need to put lifts. I think eventually I an going to install Timbrens to stiffen the front end. Price: Boss Sport Duty installed was $4,200. Timbrens $250. I did alot of reserch on this and I think this is the best choice.

My plow is steel 7'6" standard duty
It cost me $4200 installed , but that was 6 years ago and they had to fabricate a custom hitch because it was a new vehicle on the market

I want to get a 7'6" steel plow, I'm going to be teaming up with a good friend to get a decent plow business going he already has 18 drive ways and a few more lined up, I really want to get some contracts for small commercial lots and sidewalks.

I already have hd bilsteins set to plus 1inch lift in the front, I'd probobly get a set of new shocks or take the bilsteins off and have them adjusted another inch of lift as they have adjustable height settings, up to 2inch.
4200 done aint bad though,

Go for the Boss plow if its in your price range .Nothing but good things to say about it, from me and everyone else that has one.

yeah it does, its because the plow is blocking air flow to the grill where the sensor is ,dont worry about that but keep your eye on the engine temp .
When driving (especially on the highway)position the plow low and angled for aerodynamics and to allow airflow to the radiator so you dont run hot
