It just occured to me that if we all contacted Rockford Fosgate and let them know that there is a problem with one of their product, it might trigger a faster solution. Since it has their name on it. What do you guys think? Follow the link to RF Tech Support http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/ask.php
I read that the Head Unit is a CLAIRON. I do know that RF dose make some though. They sell them up here at the electronics stores.I have called Nissan many times on this, (on the RF problem). Hope to here something sooon! :)

Now where have I heard this? :hat:

Even if the head unit is Clarion, 99% of people don't know that. It's advertised as Rockford Fosgate and people will blame Nissan and RF for the problems. (Even though like I said before, the only RF parts are probably the speakers, and low end RF at that).

It would be interesting to see what RF had to say about it.

"What? Nissan who?"

I did this last week, they said they are VERY aware of the problem and the engineers are working with RF on the problem...... Nissan had a problem on the 350Z and come to find out it was the microphone that picked up the interior noise level. He said he it took them about 2 months to get a fix for the 350Z problem. The gentlemen I spoke to on the phone drove a 350Z so he new exactly how frustrating the problem is..... I have my fingers crossed!

I just got off the phone with Nissan and was told that they are going to look into it. The tech I talked to hasn't heard of the problem, but is very concerned as his father just bought a Titan and he gets to drive it occasionally. He is going to call me back if he finds anything he can report. I will post what he tells me if he calls. I did get a file number and his extension to follow up with if I want to.

I've heard this is starting to get a lot of attention from Nissan as well as the spray in bed liner issue.

I've done the whole take a number thing from Nissan customer service. They have said their 'technical' people are aware of the issue and are pursuing a fix. They think it has to do with the antenna or the antenna lead.

I talked to a guy who repairs factory stereos and he says he is seeing more and more of this issue with newer radios (not specifically Nissan). He believes it is in the stereo decoder. The output of the decoder drops off due to faulty components.

Now...how do we get Nissan on the same page? I have a feeling they hope most of us will go away or go with aftermarket radios.

I just got off the phone with Nissan (AGAIN). The consumer affairs person (pretty PC eh?) stated she had never heard of the radio or the seat (moving when getting in) problems.
Since I have called multiple times on these issues I can only surmise they don't communicate in house. This is getting a tad frustrating.

I am giving them one more week, then it's off to the local BBB.

I think the customer service people at Nissan are trained to act like they have no idea about the current problems. Last time i called, I asked the guy if he had heard of this before and he said "not really". I think Nissan tells them this to keep the lawyers at bay and out of the class action lawsuits.

Antenna

I was looking at the document that Titanparts guy distributed and I noticed the Armada and the Titan have the same sound system. The difference is the Armada has a diversity antenna system with two window mounted receptors where the Titan has a single mast mounted antenna with a reception booster. So if the Armada is not having the Stereo/mono problems then it might indicate the problem is with the antenna system the Titan has.

just a thought.

RF Stereos stinks

I hate this radio! Per the suggestions on the site, I just emailed RF and will call Nissan1 tomorrow. As far as I'm concerned I will never be able to overlook the radio problem until it's fixed. The radio is the whole reason that I found this site as I was looking for an answer to my problem.

I suggest everyone write RF and bug them about even though I don't think they will care: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rightnow.cfg/php.exe/enduser/ask.php

As others have said, RF only makes part of the system. In fact, Nissan says it is a Fosgate "powered audio system." Which likely means only the amps are made by RF. I too have found that other components (the sub) are made by Clarion so I just looked up there customer service number: 800-347-8667. Bug them too and hopefully we can get somebody to come up with a solution.

P.S. Titantalk rocks! I love this site.

I hope you guys keep bugging them. My seat still moves when I get in. How many of you have that problem? and I do have the Radio problem. I don't have the rockford system. But being that I have the same problem it has to be the Clairion head unit or antenna system. All of my complaints have been registered with the dealer and Nissan. But your right everytime I call them I'm always the first to report it. I also don't like getting patrinized by their reps. " I'm sorry I don't blame you for being upset". I want to just tell them "just fix it dammit"!
It has been 2 months now and I am getting a little impatient. I am going to the dealer thursday for a new owners class they hold a few times a year . Wait till they ask me how I like my truck. I should have a good audience.

I don't think they should advertise it as a Rockford system being that it only partially is.

Are you talking about the fact that the seat moves backwards to let you in and out or that it moves all by itself. My seat moves backwards when I open the door to make it easier to get in and out. That setting is accessed on the Nav screen.
