Thanks a lot! I'll probably have a few more questions for you in a little while though, if you don't mind.

Green wire on the head unit? or on the factory harness side?
if its the head unit I would need more info.

The Green wire is most likely for the dimmer. The antenna should be a single black wire.

thanks for your help twistedfreedom! but i am new at this. i pulled out the old stock cd player from the dash board console. it stoped working. and i am trying to install a Dual Electronics - Mobile Audio Receivers - XD1222 in it's place. i have cut the harness off. it did not fit the new receiver. and i spliced the wires to the new setup. all works but no sound.

Now that sounds like a problem. I'm surprised that you aren't getting any sound. Maybe a bad head unit. It doesn't sound like a blown fuse if every thing else is working.

i think i have blown a fuse for the Illumination for the head unit . A wire touched the Illumination wire and it sparked. now the Illumination will not come on for the new head unit i bought same model . i took back the old head unit Maybe a bad head unit i think you were right twistedfreedom. now do i just start pulling out fuses to see the one that is blown i do not know?

There should be a fuse on the back of the head unit check that one first. after that pull the panel on the pass. side and check that fuse. if both fused check out. Then there may be a short else where in the system. (when the wires touched it should have just blown a fuse, but may have melted a wire some where.) Do you have dual zone climate control? If so you will most likely need an adapter so you can still use HVAC controls.

If you can take some pictures of what you have already wired up that would help immensely.

i have fixed the fuse deal now the Illumination works on the head unit thanks for the help. now everything is hooked up still no sound? there is no Illumination wire on the new head unit i bought just a ground wire a remote turn-on wire a accessory wire a yellow memory or power wire and the 8 +/- wires that is all. i still have a green wire and a red/blue wire i think they have somthing to do with no sound deal. i would like to take pics of but i do not have a cam right now. and when i hook up the two accessory wires the Illumination comes on for the head unit?

This may be the problem? The speaker negative wire will be smaller than the Illumination. When I wired up my HU I had 3 wires left over. Brown, brown and Violet. Try Just hooking up power, ground, antenna and one speaker and see if you get any sound. Like I said before if you have dual zone climate control you may need an extra adapter.

it is done! the Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): "Light Blue" wire looked green to me. i think i am Color blind! lol the Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): "Red/Blue" wire there are two. one thin and one thick. the thick Red/Blue wire is for the Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-). the thin Red/Blue wire is for the Car Radio Illumination Wire. i hooked it up right and now it works! i still have a tan wire that is in or on the harness? i do not know what it is for but the head unit works. thanks for all your help twistedfreedom! you helped me and for that i am thankful.

For future reference. Never butcher your factory harness. they make a pigtail that will plug into that harness and then you can splice the pig tail into the HU wiring. they even conveniently make the colors on the pig tail the same color as the ones on the HU. this way if you ever need to remove the HU you simply unplug the pigtail from the factory connector and youre done. Plus you can splice the pigtail onto the HU wiring harness on a bench and not in the car/truck.

I need help with my 2009 Titan. I bought a new head unit but I can seem to get sound from it. I believe I have the correct wiring except there is an extra wire coming from the truck. It's either green or brown. I am colorblind but I'm like 90% sure it's brown. Is that a reason there would be now sound
