Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and have a few questions. I recently noticed my driver side rear axel seal was leaking. Read a bunch of the posts concerning this issue to figure out what I should do.

I read that Blue Devil makes a seal conditioner that could possibly fix the leak. Long story short, I changed out my rear diff oil and added 3ozs of Blue Devils Stop Leak.

What I am wondering is, is the stop leak just a bandaid to the problem. Or, should it be enough to actually fix the leak? I'm a disabled vet so I am living on what our government feels is a good income. That said, it's a very limited income so it's hard to drop $300 to replace the seal.

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

From my experiences of reads on this forum, you will see this issue continue and get worse if you don't correct the cause of the issue. Visit Cajun B-pipes.com to order a complete axle vent mod, for an all in one solution...this may help with the leak if your axle vent is clogged...it probably is.

The axle vent mod itself may not fix the leak since you already have a problem with said seal. However, it might not leak if the vent is clogged and you allow the axle to equalize pressure...which the axle vent mod will allow. If it were me, I'd go for the axle vent mod first off and see if your leak slows, or goes away altogether. The OEM axle breather is a known culprit for causing seals to fail, and likely the problem. Hope this helps

Thank you Dan, I will order the vent mod parts right away. I have driven about 20 miles since I changed the diff fluid and added the Blue Devil stop leak. As of now, the leak has noticeably slowed. Hopefully with completing the vent mod I will have avoided a $300 repair. Thanks again for the help
