I wondered the same thing, but realized I want to maintain my warranty since I paid for the 75K. If it fails during that time, then they can fix it. If it doesn't then I'll consider it fixed (until it fails at 75,001)!

 

Looked at a 2010 for sale yesterday, and it definitely needed the vent mod. Had the same breather as my 04 and it was seized. Hopefully they corrected it in 11

I just spin the top of the breather every so often.

I would do it.. Nissan hasnt made significant changes to the rear ends on the newer models.

 

My 2012 has the same old crappy vent that I need to mod. I already have to Toyota fitting even.

I've found that you may need to clean the nipple on the axle after the mod with a pointed object as it tends get clogged....Is this my experience only or have others had it as well?

 

I used the toyota part, with tubing routed up to above where the spare tire goes. Doesn't clog that way

I ran the tube all the way up into the rear quarter where there is a sheet metal loop to hang the filter. It fit perfectly. It only seemed to clog once so I check it every once in awhile...easy enough. Thanks for the response.

 

Mine is yet to clog, I have my tube pointed down... Works great, my seals don't leak anymore.
