Good morning everyone,

Now I don't want to beat a dead horse but I feel I just couldn't find a definitive answer regarding my issue with my back-up sensors. Long story short, when I turn my truck on, my Back-up Sensor light is out which indicates that they are working but when I shift into reverse, they will beep for 3 seconds (as long as something is behind me) and then quit and the "off" light will turn on. Basically from there, there's no "turning it off and on". Now I know that this means there is a fault in the system somewhere so I did the self-diagnostic test and found that both my LH Outer & LH Inner sensors are faulty. Now I've read that perhaps the connectors for my sensors are just filled with road dirt and grime so tomorrow I'll check and clean them as I see fit. Other than that, I am looking into buying replacements. Now then, my only issue is it seems my "Control Unit" is also faulty. Herein lies the problem, I have no idea where this control unit it or how to access it. Is it behind the rear seats somewhere behind the cloth material and is it possible to get at it without damaging the interior or removing my back seats. Some guidance on where this mythical "control unit" is would be much appreciated.

**As a tid-bit for others facing my similar problem, I'll take pictures and I've uploaded the diagnostic table for the sensors.**

Cheers,

My recommendation from personal experience: replace the sensors first, clear and wait to see if any further issues. Always a good practice to diagnose one step at a time. My strategy has always been to proceed against the high probability cause, before chasing down the most expensive. I purchased 4 sensors off website Aliexpress for less than the cost of one from the dealer....3 years ago.... and all is fine. All you need is the part number to search.
