Just got a 2017 titan and camera is really hazy is that normal. Or do I have something wrong with camera lens.
Thanks

This is right. It's a bad camera - we are not talking about the surround view, that actually is decent. But the actual rear facing camera in the tailgate is very blurry, and not clear at all when conditions are dark or rainy. You just can't see when backing up.

mine is really decent. not as good as the titanium level fords but definitely good enough for backing up or hooking the trailer up. mine is not hazy looking so maybe you have moisture in yours?

I think someone has changed their camera. You can do a quick search on here and see what they did and pics and see if its worth it for you to do the change

that is how i am. i am looking in the mirrors and usually forget to check the screen till after i am already backed up

I also forget about the camera in the truck. I use my mirrors and the sonar beeps.

A few years ago, I asked my 14 year old son to move my wrx, I heard it start and he sat there for a few seconds. He came back in and asked me how to back it out because when he puts it in reverse there no back up camera? I laughed and said to use the mirrors, he said "oh yeah", then ran back outside. I followed to make sure it was a smooth operation. Kids.. 🤣

I replaced my camera, I thought it was hazy as well in my '18.

Nissan Titan XD Aftermarket Backup Camera (2016-2018) OE Part # 28442- – Master Tailgaters

I like to think that it's more clear.
That camera came off the XD models but it's the same with a different part number. Trust me, I talked to a lot of Nissan parts guys and that's what they told me.
If you want to try that camera you can get the same one for like $65 off of eBay just search the part number. Another person purchased a higher quality camera and remove the camer and installed it into the housing on the truck and it was a little better but it's the crappy screens Nissan uses that's the real problem.
In some of the Titan groups on FB people who install aftermarket unit with bigger and better screen technology the original camera looked great.
Wanna see poor camera quality I can post some photos from my girlfriends Audi A3. Night time is useless and daytime has that fisheye look to it.

mine works great for trailer hook up. especially since i never had a camera to hook a trailer, previously, and was doing it the old fashioned way

No - it's a really bad camera, have the same issue on the 2021 Platinum Reserve I own. In daylight it's fine, but in darkness or rain it's terrible, you can't see anything.

Unfortunately, no company I can find makes an aftermarket camera that is compatible with the surround view camera and is an upgrade. Master Tailgaters however still makes one for your series of Titan, and you can go get that.
