Bad Fabtech Dirt Logic Coil Overs?

1956 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  AppleJacks
So, I take my truck into the suspension shop to have the coil overs adjusted and get some more lift out of the front. Well, they get my truck up and go to make the adjustment and the entire shock body is spinning... all the set screws are out and there is no load on the suspension. WTF? Anyways, mechanics get on the phone with Fabtech and my options were to send the shocks in and it would take about a week to get back to me so who knows how long I would have been without a truck, or find a fix over the phone. I chose the latter of the 2. So basically my question is has anyone else heard of this? Should I just get a new set of coil overs and say screw the Fabtechs?

Oh, I just bought the truck a few weeks ago used with the Fabtech 6" performance lift already installed.

Yes, both the Fabtech and ProComp coilovers that come with their "Stage 2" kits are pretty much junk. You want to upgrade to either Radflo or SAW (Sway A Way) coilovers. Give Greg @ PRG Products a call. He can hook you up with either brand of shock, which he has valved specifically for Titan's. Great service and pricing too!

Don't try emailing or Pvt. Messaging him, by phone is the best way, if he's not there, leave a message and he WILL call you back.

do your research first b4 you buy something. I think it has been brought up many times that these coilovers are junk.
What everyone are trying to say is yes this is a common problem fabtech used the wrong thread locker on the top cap so when you go to crank them down the whole shock pretty much dissasembles its self. I would go with a different coilover if you can

I was thinking until then I could unscrew the top cap a little bit and put some red RTV on it... I think that would hold it for a while. Any input on that? As long as I dont thrash the truck they should be ok for a while right?
