I have a 2006 Crew Cab upon which I put a shell/top. I'm taking delivery of a 2017 CC in a month or so and was wondering if the bed dimensions are the same or close enough I can transfer my topper.

Anyone been down this road before? Figure I can save close to $1,500 by holding onto my old one and repainting it to match.

Thanks!

i took my bakfliptrifold off my 2012 and put it on my 2017. pro4x
i had to mount it with spacers in between the brackets as the box seems to be atleast 1/4" or more wider. still fits good though. i may mount a metal plate along the side on each side to make sure its gonna stay. as itsonly sitting on about an 1/8" on each side..

Hey, thanks--I'm not sure I've got that much wiggle room...I have a SnugTop brand and it fits true to its name...will have to eyeball it when I get home but don't think it'll handle a wider bed.

i dont know if its wider on the outside. or just the inside a little. all you can do is try it or rig something up. and or sell it haha

I don't think you will be able to use your topper. The internal dimensions of the bed do not seem to be changed from the previous generation, but the shape/size of the top rails of the bed and tailgate have changed. You could probably get away with transferring a soft tonneau or hard folding tonneau cover, but a fiberglass tonneau or topper will need to fit perfectly around the top outer edge of the bed/tailgate.

One thing I know is my die cut rubber mat from my 2005 Titan fits perfectly in my 2018. For whatever reason I left it on my garage floor as a mat for ten years and once I had the new one I tried it, big bonus. I’d think tailgate and rear wall of the cab will prove to be an issue.
