To install my folding bed cover, I had to turn the utilitrack rails upside down (because the clamps for the cover foul on the rail when they are right way up).

But I'm now thinking of getting a bed divider to make the tip trips easier. I assume the divider mounts to the utilitrack rails, so does anyone know for sure that the divider would fit with the rails upsidedown? The channel ends up about an inch lower, and I'd hate to get a divider all the way here to discover it won't fit...

I have a divider at home in the garage. I can measure the clearance under the divider as well as the distance from the bottom slide of the utilitrac to the bed floor. You can then compare your distance and see if it will work.

BTW, I never use my divider... you can buy mine, if it is determined that it fits - might save you some AUD. Shipping probably won't be cheap, however... :dunno:

It won't fit. The divider is almost flush with the bed surface with the channels in the correct position.

Yup... confirmed... almost no clearance with the rails in standard position... Upside down, it won't work. Sorry. Good thing you checked first, though.

PS... you can STILL buy mine. It would look GREAT in your garage and out of mine. :upsidedow

With the way the bed extender attaches, there are brackets that slide into the Utilitrac rails. Then the extender rests on a pivot on the brackets.

If the brackets & pivot were 1" lower, the extender would still work, but probably sit at a slight angle to rather than be completely level across the top of it. I don't see how it would detract from the utility or use of the extender. Most probably wouldn't even notice the slight angle. And when flipped over to store, same thing, but with the shorter feet on it, I don't see it being a problem and it wouldn't stick above the top of the bedrails so your tonneau should still clear it easily.

Ahh that looks more like it to me. and I can see in the first pic that titan has a cover too, so they got the brackets over the utilitrack rails somehow.

And can I confirm, the bed extender can go in backwards to act as a sort of bed divider as well right? That's what you meant when you said "when flipped over"?

I bought a trifold tonnea that was made for Titan without utili-trac - I thought I could make it work and not totally successful so I called manufacturer and they in fact had a kit that let me use a non-track tonneau on a Titan with tracks --

Mine is made by FreedomTruckProducts.com -- the 4 adapters for the 4 clamps were $20 -- they were super helpful and the cover is more than adequite

Yes. If you need to lower the Utilitrac rails for a bedcover, you just flip the Utilitrac rails, and it gives you the room you need for the bedcover.

There should be absolutely no issue with the Utilitrac mounted bed extender fitting. Many have done just that.

And yes, by flipping the bed extender over, it just pivots in the rail bracket and you can use it as a bed divider as well. Obviously, it will only go up to the wheelwells as the extender is full width of the bed and won't fit between the wheelwells, but you can push it to that point anyway.
