I have the Nissan bed extender.. I'm wondering if it's installed correctly (it came with the truck).. I can't really adjust it as if I try to slide it back any further it just hits the wheel wells.. Is that normal?

As far as I'm aware it's supposed to sit right next to the tailgate.

Um ok.... To use it as a extender you have to flip it over so it sits on the tailgate.

LMFAO!! No ****!! I wasn't asking that.. LOL

I'm saying I can't push it back (the way it is sitting in the picture) any further because it hits the wheel wells.. So I'm basically asking if it's installed right as it can't really be adjusted forward / backward because it hits.. I can take another pic to show what I mean..

I know what you mean. I'm saying there's no point to it being in the middle of the bed, so you've got it right. It's supposed to sit right next to the tailgate so when you drop the gate you flip it over.

If you want something to divide the bed I have a bed divider I'll sell you.

It has slides on those rails so I just thought it could be adjusted like that.. As long as this is how it's supposed to be and nothing is wrong I'm fine.

Thanks

I get what you are asking. Yes that's normal. Otherwise the extender wouldn't cover the whole area of the tailgate. If you want it all the way back you have to do as instructed above. They make a bed divider that will slide easier to specific spots if you're only going to use it to secure stuff inside the bed and don't need the extension capability.

Probably a dumb question but do you need the utility rack to run divider or bed extender? Mine didn't come with the utility rack in the bed but wouldn't mine having either of this without spending a lot

Nissan offers a bed extender for either trucks with Utilitrac or without. Mine did not come with it either and I bought the extender for trucks without. Easy install and works perfect.

How does the one for without work? Where did you buy it? And does it still work if I have a drop in bed liner?

Also so i can't just a buy a used bed extender for Titans it has to be a specific one?

The bed extender for w/o utilitrac works the same way as with utilitrac. It just attaches differently. My truck also has a drop in bedliner and it works and attaches just fine. The brackets attach behind the bedliner at the tie down hooks. If you google instructions for titan bed extender I am sure you will find them.

You could buy the bed extender itself used if you wish but you will have to buy the correct bracket kit for w/o utilitrac so you can attach it. I bought mine from the dealership because I know someone there and I get the employee discount. If you buy it new, the kit will also come with the brackets as well.

The one that works without Utilitrack has 2 brackets that mount just inside the bed near the tailgate cables, and the extender just flips into place when you need it extended and flips back when you don't need it. It's not as useful as the utilitrack version if you need to store it, because you have to just take it off the brackets (it just lifts off) and just set it in the bed near the window, whereas the one with Utilitrack will slide back to the window.

Any of the bed extenders for Nissan Titan should work. Actually, the extender itself is expandable if you mess with it, so you might be able to get ones made for other trucks to work as well. The extender is made by AMP Research, and if you call them they can probably tell you what else might work for the Titan. They're pretty good people - One of the rubber feet came off of my extender, and they sent me a new set free of charge.

Well cause I found a used one for 80$ on CL would I need to buy the brackets to use on a truck without utilitrack? Or should they come with them?

Thanks for that link. Where would I bolt those brackets too ? So I would have the same function of just flipping and in flipping it to use the bed extender?
