I recently finished lifting my 2004 4x4, I have 5100s on all 4 corners, pro4x springs and a 1.5" spacer up front for 2.5" of lift. For the back I installed a 1" maxtrac lift shackle to lift the truck and get rid of my stock 04 shackles. I now have a vibration in the rear at certain speeds (45ish) which is accompanied by bed hop. Idid some research and found that the driveshaft angle could be off from the lift and I may need to install shims at the leaf springs to change the angle of the rear end. Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Also I checked my transmission mount and cant tell by looking if its bad or not. What's the best way to check the mount?

I found out that shackles binding will result in bed hop. I loosened up the shackle bolts and the vibration seemed to go away but when I torqued them back down the vibration came back. I also put a topper on the truck and now the bed hop is at 53 mph instaed of 43mph.I may go back to stock shackles and see if the hop goes away. If stock shackles fix the problem I will have to install a block to lift the back, and I may use a 2" block to bring me back to level because the back is down an inch from the topper. Will I need anything else to make the setup work?

in this case a block may work better than the shackles bc your essentially changing the pinion angle via the mounting point of the leaf spring. with a block your just moving the rear downward. Now although you didn`t change the pinion angle using a low (2") block, you increased the distance downward changing the angle at the yoke/flange where the driveshaft meets the rear.

you should still be ok, bc you added weight and the truck does have an allowable range of articulation in the stock design.

thing to do is give it a try and see where it takes you.

Pinion angle shim is necc when the pinion angle changes enough to bind or cause vibrations from an incorrect driveline angle. hope that helps.

I went in the opposite direction with a lowering Maxtrac lowering shackle and thought I would need to dial in the pinion angle, but some reported here that they were fine with the Maxtrac lowering shackle. so I tried it and it`s ok. no weird vibrations, even with some tools on board.
