I'm not sure what they're called but the black plastic side pieces on the bed and the tailgate when closed is irritating my skin when rubbed against it. It feels like fiberglass if anyone has experienced rolling around in insulation.

Anybody have a fix for this? Line X?

Thanks,

Sorry Bmaez, I don't have a fix for you, but I feel your pain. When you asked "if anyone has experienced rolling around in insulation" it brought back some memories. About 3½ decades ago (Damn, I'm old!), I worked for a company for about 8 years that made fiberglass storage tanks (from 30 gallons to tens of 1,000s of gallons). We would have to do a lot of grinding, inside and out, to seal the head to the body, install baffles, flanges, manways, lift bars, etc. We'd be covered from head to toe with fiberglass dust after grinding. So yeah, I know that itchy feeling you're having. Now imagine your irritation, intensified . . . greatly. The worst parts were the beltline and inside of the forearms. Ugh! I don't miss those days.

Anyway, someone here please help Bmaez. That fiberglass itch sucks! Good luck on a fix.

Are you talking about the top plastic caps or inside the bed? Drop in bed liner or factory sprayed?

Top plastic caps that run the perimeter of the bed. You have to reach over them to get to the inside of the bed. It took me a while to figure out what was causing the irritation.

I know this is a late response but I have a 2009 Nissan frontier and every time I reach into the truck bed if my arms touch that black plastic side rail I get that fiberglass feeling or if I sit on the tailgate it actually happened to my legs, I'll never do that again. The only thing that worked for me was to use those heavy duty sticky rollers on the backs of my arms and on back of my legs then soak in the bathtub. Good luck I hope you found some relief
