Just added an Injen CAI to my list of upgrades and so far I love it and I havent even tuned it yet. I have JBA headers, Cajun B-pipes and stock everything else on my exhaust with the exception of a 22 inch Maganaflow muffler. I really like the sound although there is some drone which I may look into a resonator for, but I'm wondering if I'm selling my truck short performance wise and I should look into getting a cat back exhaust? Or even just by adding something like a Cajun cat back using my current muffler? Thoughts?

Cajun Y-Pipe and catback would be a nice upgrade with the muffler you already have installed.

Cajun catback is the BOMB for performance and you can customize with the muffler of your choice. Borla and JBA muffler are tops IMO... Sound clips of both are on my website.

I need to post a video of my borla set up.. I've had it for awhile now. It sounds so good with Cajuns catted b pipes. Best muffler I've had so far.. Magnaflow to jba, jba to black widow(welds broke and rattled like a coin jar after 2 months) to borla... By far borla sounds the best!!

This is the borla xr1 with the Cajun catback an reso Bpipes.
I'd go with Cajun if I were you.
That sounds sick! I may have to go with the Cajun catback then, and look into the Borla muffler. Did you guys notice a difference in performance too? I feel like airflow is a bit restricted on mine with the stock cat back. For what I have in it, I feel like the acceleration should greater, and the exhaust could be the culprit.

Yes I think so also the Borla is what a truck is suppose to sound like. The JBA is very good also. The Cajun catback lets you choose what muffler you want for customized sound preference and is the best performance setup available for these trucks

I definitely noticed a difference for sure, it's a real nice setup.

When I bought my full jba exhaust your system wasn't available yet, other wise I would of done that. My jba was during the period when the muffler's were iffy. It did sound good though.

Use the Borla Xr1 and a vibrant ultra quite post muffler.

If its still too loud, use the cajun catted B -pipes.

Most of the people here run headers, catted or catless B-pipes the full cajun system and a borla XR1 with vibrant ultra quiet. The results are excellent in terms of power (including uprev) and sound.

Uprev is highly recommended and essentially needed for when you install headers. Plus its nice to have when you continued with upgrades.

Well after going back and forth on it and listening to night owl's sound clips on the cajun site repeatedly I ordered the JBA cat back system and vibrant ultra quiet to eliminate the reported drone/CIS. Part of my decision was based on price difference and part was based on the noise. I love the sound of the Borla with the Cajun system, but for me a little quieter is better and I like the low throaty tone of the JBA with the ultra quiet. Thanks for your input everyone, it should come this week and I'll see if I can get a good sound clip post install

Anyone running headers, bpipes and xr-1 without the UQ? Just how loud/harsh is it?

Sounds insane without a uq... Huge downfall is the drone.. Mind numbing humb at interstate cruising speed.

I am not a cheap person but due to my inability to stay away from my better half I have a few kids that make me broke most the time so here is a few things I have done that made my 04'T better that when I bought it with 130k on it. New bils all around a month ago. I have the passenger side manifold leak so while doing the shocks I found a putty that is simple to use and does not need mixed just open and squeeze, good to 2200 deg. I covered all the crack and followed setting instructions and after a month still no noise. My muffler was rattling something terrible so I bought a Black Widow from supporting vendor A.I.I. Racing and welded it on and that was a night and day difference. Love my T

2008.5 Crew Cab SE 2wd. More mods than i care to list nor admit how much money i've spent on a near 10yo truck.

Here are some videos of my setup. Doug Thorley LT headers, 2.5'' Cajun catless b pipes, Cajun 2.5/3.5 Y pipe kit, single 3.5 piping dumped pre axle with Borla XR1 oval 40396 muffler and Vibrant 18'' long bottle resonator into DC sports tip.

Its loud, it drones but i like it! Not for the feint of heart and def not recommend for long trips.

This is a tunnel video I took with rear glass down and windows cracked.

Drive by WOT in 1st gear at 20mph to shifting into 3rd and letting off, ran out of road.

speedo vid

Lastly, a idle, and multiple 5000rpm revs.

Thats all i have. Videos don't do justice but gives you an idea.

I wish more people would make exhaust videos like this lol.

Thast sounds awesome. If it were 10 years ago I would definitely be going with a similar set up, but I'll make some vids of my JBA once its all together.

You stated 3.5" Y kit and piping. I do not see where cajun offers a 3.5" kit. I really dig your sound a lot. I have put countless hours into planning my next build that will take place over the next month or 2. I am wanting the meanest, deep and throaty exhaust I can get while still sounding sophisticated. I currently have the JBA catback system with JBA exhaust. I plan to add headers and Uprev. I want to swap my muffler and do whatever else can bring it to life. I have also entertained electric cutouts for even more fun when wanted.
