Best lift 2wd???

2331 Views 20 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  GR8WHITE
I have a 06' 2wd XE Titan and i am thinking about installing the cst 8inch suspension kit or a 6 inch fabtech kit.I have heard that there is a lot of vibration in the 2wd model after a lift kit is installed. I know that with a carrier bearing drop kit vibration is reduced, i was wondering if anyone already has either of these two setups and could give me some advice. I dont really do any off road driving i just want as close to factory ride as possible. I am planning to run 35x 13.50 inch tires on a 20 x10 inch rim with 4.5 inches of backspacing. Thanks.

With those tire and wheel spec's you're going to rub...Check with PRG Products on all your options:http://www.prgproducts.com/
You're misinformed..There is no vibration after properly lifting a 4x2.

But you still need the carrier drop brkt for anything over about 2"...
I have the CST 8" lift and do not have any vibrations. I also do not go off roading I just like the looks of a lifted truck. I am currently running Helo maxx 6 20x10 with a bs of 5. My cooper stt's are 20x13.5 and tend to rub the fender liners up front when I turn but not all the time. You will probably need to do the pinch weld mod and I would also run some type of coilover up front instead of the space and stock shocks. I am sure more folks will chime in with even better info than I can provide but I would also check out http://www.prgproducts.com/titan.php and give greg a call.

Exactly. That is why I said "properly" lifting a 4x2. The carrier bearing drop bracket is needed only if you lift the rear 2" or more.

I have about 7" of lift in the front, and 5" of lift in the rear, with the carrier bearing drop bracket, and have absolutely zero vibrations.

how much did that cost?

It was about $1700 for the lift stuff. . .tires and wheels I only paid $1000 shipped from some guy on the forum who didn't like them anymore...they only had 100 miles on them, but cost him over $3000 brand new.

So, I spent about $2700.

I stand corrected...I should have stated "you might need"...

After the installing the Deaver mini-pak on my truck, I picked up some vibration under heavy acceleration, after installing a set of TC shackles and dropping the truck about 3/4" it was completely gone...So SOME trucks might need the drop brkt...

Ag I was wonderin how your truck rides with the C/Os cranked 3"? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the same Radflo's as soon as I sell my tires, so I was just curious.
no probs on mine. i've hit 100mph and still cool. it's the tires you have to be worried about.

It rides great. Definitely a much smoother ride than stock. I've had it up to 110 once with it lifted and everything, and it felt solid. No vibrations or anything
I have the same exact lift as agtitan except i have the dr. coilovers, and i have them cranked up 4" and it is a little stiff but going around corners it doesnt have that lean like when i had the stock shocks and springs with the 2.5" prg spacer, i like it and unfortunately the only vibration i have is a wobble from 45-55 from the DamN wheel shop inability to high speed balance big tires.

How about adding a 4" lift spindle, then cranking those coilovers DOWN....I did just that after installing my spindles, the ride is better and it still handles the corners great...
Is it necessary to have upper a-arms with a spindle coilover combo?

Nope, I don't have that on mine. . . I've got the Radflo coilovers and spindle lift.
