Your 15.5 sounds good. IMO, if you've owned a Titan and that's what you want. A little Frontier would never make you happy..

The 4X4 has a little more weight to carry around. The biggest variable concerning gas mileage would be the gearing. The 4X4 is geared lower than the non tow 2X4, but the 2X4 could be geared the same as the 4X4 if it has the big tow option. You could expect to get the best mileage with a C/C 2X4 that does not have the big tow option.

All in all, if your expecting to get more than 15 mpg all of the time you can pretty much forget it in a Titan no matter what the configuration. You might get better mpg occasionally but not consistantly. I would jump up and down with joy if I could consistantly get 15mpg in my titan.

Yea I think a 4x4 without big tow will get better mileage then a 4x2 with big tow. I have a 4x2 with big tow and average 13MPG consistantly, 17 all Hwy.
