My dealer told me that Nissan was making a bike rack for the Utilitrac system (not for the overhead rack-one for inside the bed). I've called 800-Nissan1 twice to ask about it, but they don't seem to know anything. Has anyone heard if they are making one, and if so, when it will be out?

Good idea! I've always mounted mine facing forward, but that would be nice to do it the way you described. I just wish they would hurry up and make one for the bed.

I made just about the same thing this afternoon, but I used the whole 'lock' piece. I'll post some pics sometime.
