You don't have to undo the UCA from the spindle. Undo the sway bar while the truck is still on the ground. Jack it up, take the bottom bolt out, then the top bolts, and then the strut can just slide out from the bottom. Done this several times with and without a spacer and with the Bilsteins.

nice, but why did you undo your upper UCA to remove the front shocks? When I replaced mine all I did was disconnected the front sway bar and the front shock assy dropped right out.
I installed the Bilstein HD's but I do like the 5100's
If you jack the truck up without removing the swaybar first, unbolting the UCA is the only way you can then unbolt the swaybar. learned this the hard way :teethmast By the order of his directions, that's what he did.

Some of the main problems people were running into were the washer being on upside down or the bushings being installed wrong. I've never seen a thread that the sleeve want installed. I believe its purpose is to keep the installer from over tightening the top nut which could cause damage to the bushings. The sleeve is on the oem shocks and is reused.

They're the same, or at least I couldn't tell the difference. Mine had ~50k on them and were in good condition still.
