Are my rear 5125 bilsteins blown out? Or is this my leaf spring packs? Went riding this weekend. Took my polaris quad out, on the drive back when in to a shopping center and going over speed bumps at anything over then slowly creeping over speed bumps the rear feels like it sinks down till it hits the bumpstops. The bed had the quad which weighs 504lbs, 5 gal gas jug, 5 gal water jug gear like chairs, canopy, tool box and ramps for the bike and cooler with food and drinks. This can't be making the rear bottom out can it? Rear suspension is stock leaf springs with RC 4" tapered anti axle wrap blocks with the 5125's that have about 12k on them with mixed miles(highway mostly, light off-roading like dirt roads, are trails and fire roads and all types of from minimal loads to load including carrying 2k lbs in the bed about three times now with them on

I'd say it's your leaf springs. I recently had a pallet of sod in the back, probably 1400 ish pounds, and didn't come close to bottoming out. Your shocks don't really provide lift/resistance, just damping force to keep the back end from bouncing down the road.

So when you carried the 1400lbs you're saying you didn't even sag a bit? What are these trucks rated for with weight in the bed? When I carry the pallet of 2000lbs of salt, it basically rests on the bump stops. I need a bit more lift in the rear to level the truck with the front anyways so would add a leafs or the mini deaver packs help?

It almost sounds like you're missing a leaf, but 2K lbs is over your capacity for sure. Put a set of Deaver leaf springs in and it will squat even faster.

I have PRG Deaver C30's and i noticed when i loaded it up with 45 bags of mulch earlier this Spring my backend squatted pretty bad! Is that because I eliminated the overload leaf?

Could be. But I've heard that the Deavers are just softer.

I put Deavers on my '91 Ranger and it squatted so bad with even a light load. That cured me of ever wanting to do the same to my Titan.

I definitely was squatting with the 1400 pounds, but I had no issues with bottoming out. I've put 2k pounds in before and while I went slow, I still didn't bottom out. Could be like HRTKD says and you're missing a leaf.

I can't be missing a leaf don't Titans run a three leaf with an over load leaf on the bottom setup so 4 leafs in total? Here's a picture of my setup. As you can see on the frame the dust and dirt is wiped off where the bump stop touches when carrying heavy loads or medium loads over speed bumps.

Damn, then deavers are out of the picture if they squat easier. Going to need to find an add a leaf. Air bags would be nice but they're pricey! And I'm lifted I'm not sure how they would install airbags on a lifted truck.

Airbags would work, the bags sit between the frame and the leaf, not the frame and the axle. At least the Firestones I had did. (Am I remembering this correctly? I installed them myself. Been 7+ years...) In any case, a custom bracket if needed could be fabbed up not too expensively from a local welder.

But instead of bags, I like the Roadmaster Active Suspension. Ran it on two Titans including one where I had a gooseneck hitch installed. It's $400-$500 bucks IRC. Easy install.

About the leaf spring missing, im not correct ?

Would add a leafs not help me for both carrying loads and lifting the rear a bit more ?

Or can airbags do that too? Level me unloaded and keep me leveled loaded ?

I have seen those online as well when looking at add a leafs, those are pretty cool but would they level me unloaded?

I think it only stiffens the suspension as you put more weight in the back of the truck to keep it where it is unloaded.

I haul a Polaris Scrambler 850 in my bed, paired with a 12 ft. aluminum trailer and an 800 RZR on it. It really, really squatted the back of the truck down. This spring, I installed air bags and when I tow like that, I put 30psi in each bag. You would not believe the difference that it makes. Put it this way. With the truck unloaded, going from 10psi to 30psi raised the back of my truck over 1.50" I'll attach a "before" pic.

The thing is mine already has the Cali lean going so I want to bring the rear itself already so when I carry heavy loads it looks even worse. Upfront I have the 4x4 could with bilsteins on the second setting. I would really like to go the airbag route seems like I could get more bang out of my buck. Level it when unloaded and if it squats with a heavy load just add more air in the bags. How does it ride unloaded with the bags? And how much psi can you put in airbags and what are they rated for to carry ?

Here are pictures of how it sits unloaded with a 6" lift/bilsteins middle setting/4x4 coils and 4" blocks in the back. And then a picture of her carrying the pallet with 2000lbs of salt. Also how would I now what extended away bar links to buy if I wanted to throw my front sway bar back on with that setup in the front?

With 2k worth of salt in the bed, you're only sagging maybe 2-3". I don't really see a problem with that. That is, pardon the pun, a ton of salt you're toting.

As for the sway bar links, any decent set of extended links designed for your lift height should work. The key is matching the lift height and the link extension, not brand name.

When I carry those 2k I rest on the bumpstops. Other medium loads im like maybe 2-4" from the bump stops depending exactly on the load.

What do stock 2wd Nissan Titans sit at in the front so I know how much lift I have. I purchased the truck with the lift already on.

Some leaf springs "wear" over time and use. I had a slowverado many years ago that saw a lot of rough driving and the leaf springs made a W shape. The truck would handle almost no load in the back either. I ended up putting 3/4 ton suburban springs on that silverado and it made the truck way to uncomfortable to drive with almost no give at all, so you don't want to find the biggest mac daddy hoss springs you can get, if you go the cheap route (junkyard) but something like OE. Surely they are available to buy somewhere...
