Thanks, looks like I'll be buying some non-synthetic API SG/SH/SJ 5W-30 and some oil filter (K&N PS1010?), and checking other fluid levels.

How do I find out which version Titan I have? The previous owner thought it was a crew cab, but I think it's a basic model king cab, with some mods.

There are also 4 rectangular holes where I would surmise some ladder rack posts were once attached. I'd prefer to not make more holes and need to find out which ladder racks can use the same holes.

Lotta other small issues,
Ferenc

King Cab (KC) has two large doors & two small doors that open forward.

Crew Cab (CC) has four doors that open like normal sedan doors.

Regarding the holes, They are just knockouts in the plastic bedrail caps that you can put anything in to cover. Any ladder rack that uses the stakebed holes will fit if you specify the year and style of your truck. You can put any pickup truck stake tiedowns in the rectangular holes if you just want to cover them.

Or if you don't want the tiedowns, you can get regular plugs.

Thank you all for your help and making me feel welcome.

I'm in the East Bay - the vehicle was bought in Santa Rosa, and I bought the truck since none of our other vehicles are trailer-ready.

6.5 (!) quarts of oil (API SN), filter (K&N HP1010) replaced - I think my Τιτάν front is not stock - had to remove a bottom rock(?) pan with 6ea. 10mm bolts to get to the filter. The front looks different that what I've seen in photos. After the temps go down, I'll post a photo.

Had to prop up the hood - I wonder if the hood shock/pistons can be 'recharged' or just landfilled and replaced?

Also, noticed that the tire air pressure is OK, but the TPMS (?) thinks it's bad (sensors?). The previous owner had inadvertenly cut some wires on the body/frame (to put in a step) right under the passenger door and damaged the factory stereo in the process (!?). Aftermarket stereo works, but is not using the same wiring. Not yet sure how to use all its features (Bluetooth would be nice!), nor how many speakers it works with. Price one pays for a good deal ;-)

Exhaust sounds like a boat, and the truck is comfortable to ride in and see out of, inspite of the driver side window's buckled inside film,

hmm, those look great but appear to be more squarish than the holes i'm dealing with. after about a dozen calls to dealers, car parts, and truck/camper accessories, I have up and went with a aluminum home made:

Those are a generic photo from a website. They are NOT specific to the Titan. When you order them, you TELL the company what kind of truck you have and they send you what you need. The photo isn't necessarily your truck. It just shows the type of item for sale. :serious:

thanks, i must have asked the wrong folks or have too old a vehicle. it sure is a pleasure to drive, but i've got to get more used to the space it takes up in parking lots as well as in turns.
ps i made some front and rear bed risers to allow transporting wider than 49" objects - might need some tweaking, but it was a succeess.
